PAF F-16 | Discussions

Handing off the desert eagle to PAF has nothing to do with uae its all u.s. its an agreement between u.s and Pakistan and when u.s orders the towl heads comply.
1. Block 52........V kits including the easa radar and 120d amraam, numbering 200 missiles.
2. 20 desert eagles including spares and ground equipment and armaments.

But their is a catch......

Ps: CAS has given a list of "other" mostly "ground equipment " that the PAF is more interested in acquiring from the u.s other then the ac.
what ground equipment would that be? Can't be SAMs.....could be Radars only.......

Also, aren't BLK60s old by now and superseded by BLK72/V versions?

UAE could offer these on the condition PAF arrives with them in UAE when needed......and also help with DACT to other UAE squadrons....lots of stuff...all up in the air until something materializes.

UAE F-16s could be cheap or free of cost...thats the advantage i can see top of my head...

I think 5-10 years ago i would agree, but now China can latch or exceed Russia for engines, RD-93 is preferable for easy mainetence but we have alternatives now
You are right Sir, we have alternative Chinese engine now. But for changing all old Russian engines would take a long time. Till then the two different engine spare parts keeping for maintenance would be difficult for us.

the main part of the news is that u.s has agreed to provide V kits for the block 52 and 200 amraam 120D,
Australia is purchasing 200 AMRAAM C5/8s and 200 AMRAAM Ds for a total of 1.3 billion...that's about 3 million a piece.......so why would PAF want to spend that much on just the missiles......too high a price.....

The F-16 Block 60 isn’t far behind the Block 70/72. Its AN/APG-80 AESA radar, first on any F-16, and F110-GE-132 engine (32,500 lbf) outshine the Viper’s APG-83 and ~29,000 lbf engines. Internal FLIR and Falcon Edge ECM keep it potent. Block 70/72 has newer avionics and a slightly better radar, but Block 60’s power and sensors hold up.

Hi,

You hit the nail on the head---. It is not what we get from the US---it is "what else " we are getting that is not visible---.

GE 132 engine was needed due to perpetual hot ambient conditions of the UAE air fields......turbines lose a lot of power when ambient temperatures are high.......so an underpowered engine will restrict your fuel and load out at takeoff.

but that wont be the case for pakistan

Realy...

You think those customized Vipers will go up for Sale in a decade?

The Ematartis haven't parted ways with the Mirage 2000, and you think that they will give up on the Block 60.

I call it: Fanboy Fantasy
More importantly - even if it is mentioned - the Indian lobby in the US and UaE is exceptionally well entrenched.

India runs the UaE for their royal family.
Top to bottom now.

magar chupkay say unkay kaan tau bhar saktay hain? i mean zubani kalami?
That messes up your own reputation.
You advise on ideas - not information.
The JF-17 has massive F-16 and EF concepts and ideas in its veins especially cockpit and MMI.

But, PAF SME advised what should go in not provide blueprints or pictures or otherwise.

You erode trust that way.

Same reason why at times you have trust issues with Arabs. As soon as you tell them something they run to their western partners saying “The Pakistanis said this about your stuff”
