all the parts are shipped from china and assembled in Pakistan.Pakistan doesn’t have the capacity to build tank kits indigenously.

It will be interesting to see the Haider with cope cages, because what Russo-Ukraine war has shown us is that those Ukrainian FPV loitering munitions are a pain in the ass for tanks and armored vehicles.

According to @farooqbhai PA currently has 570 VT4s on order of which 176 are being delivered fully assembled from China, 284 are being assembled using semi-complete kits in HIT, and remaining 110 are being built using full assembly kits at HIT.

Additionally PA has 110 more VT4 planned which would be assembled using full assembly kits at HIT.

Israelis built their own Merkava after being given a cold shoulder from their "Western allies" pre-1990's.

And here we have Pakistan repeating history, this time with a different "partner", and buying tech/equipment from China.

Bet HIT can't even make 100 of these tanks per year. That one being used for all these photos will likely be their best product.

It took HIT 14 years to upgrade old tanks to Al-Zarrar...

And there was Chinese and Ukrainian help involved.

Some, especially some specific mods/admins, might feel like I'm "sh!ting" on this initiative but everything I said above is true, to a degree.

And then we have the Israeli example.....where billions of US taxpayer money (some of mine and of my ancestors) were used to make home grown tanks. That's about it....the fiscal aspect. Everything else involved Israeli capability, one way or another.

Why can't Pakistan make it's own products??

Why are there thousands of Engineers (and technicians) graduating yearly?? Are they of any use?

For that to happen there has to be serious effort

Blaming economy is BS, SINCE ARMY has largest budgets in the world..

Countries with much less budget and much smaller total economy have done much better

Issue is military is corrupt to the core..we previously blamed the politicians but poor politicians are just front men..they can't do jack shit..

You will need turkey type of civilian military co operation not a general siphoning up money on buy off shore Island or lake House or creek house

Less radios, bearings and other components -
HIT cannot manufacture an entire tank - never has.. but AK project has shown semi assembling capacity albeit not at scale.

All parts except for engine are being made in Pakistan.
