It has been my position since Post #1 that banning is stupid.

Selective temporary gagging is better. Which is essentially what this thread is about.

Good job, apply the same to new users for 1 month. A new user should be reading through the library, to read 1000s of posts and updating their knowledge and not posting 20 messages a day

Don't pass this rule please. It's a terrible decision and would destroy the whole forum and purpose of it. There should be no limit to reply or starting threads. Still if you want to place limit than it should be 75 to 100 for replies and 25 to 40 for threads.

I have nothing to do with the implementation but I am sure management will take all the feedback into account. Look at how swiftly they acted in correcting my moderation errors and removed my privileges. They will remove or modify the rule in the best interests of the forum I am sure.

I disagree with this one. i can see the aim of this rule, but i believe this will be counterproductive and hinder contributions and remove the fun from the discussion. spammers and trolls should be warned and banned if they break the rules without limiting other users.

I think you have misunderstood. The speed-limit rule only applies to people who have been reported for trolling or other offences multiple times. You are free to post as many posts as you want, as long as you don't do that.
