As far as IK, Aleksander Vučić was in far right ultra-nationalistic party as @mulj and he had instance against the Muslims and other Balkan pop like Croatia etc... But now, he wants to show to the world that his new party are moderate and that they de-nationalized their ideas

And you know what, regardless of what side one is on, it's important to acknowledge that and to realize that it is the smart thing to do, regardless of how hypocritical it might be and perhaps shameless double standards. As long as he has those sentiments but curbs them and doesn't act on them, we can give him a pass. If he goes full retard like Milosevic, that's a different story. Hopefully he keeps his senses and looks out for his country instead.

Today's Serbia is very far from the extremist Serbia of those times.. we all have hated them and all the Arab countries from Saudi Arabia to Morocco did force send contingents of Mujahidin to fight there along the Bosnians.. they helped build an army of more than 100 thousand well armed men..

And before that Tito's Yugoslavia was a close friend to most Arab countries.. mostly Egypt as they both contributed to the Non-aligned movement..

Absolutely. There's no argument from me with any of that. I'm only empathizing with @mulj 's cautious apprehension of what he sees, been a Bosnian Muslim himself and about as close to the heart of the matter as anyone could be. I can totally see where he's coming from, for sure.

Egypt is preparing to receive the first batch of the Korean Al-Raad howitzer artillery

In the coming months, Egypt is preparing to receive the first batch of Korean K9A1EGY “Thunder” self-propelled howitzer systems, as the Korean company Hanwha has concluded sub-contracts with several companies to provide the components necessary to produce the first batch of Egyptian howitzers.

Last January, the Korean company signed a contract with STX worth $93 million to supply it with new SMV-1000 engines with a capacity of 1,000 horsepower, while an Australian company obtained a contract last year to supply the Korean company with armor steel used in the production of the first batch of Egyptian artillery systems. .

In parallel, Egypt is currently working, in cooperation with the South Korean company Hanwha, on transferring manufacturing technology and preparing production lines within Egyptian military factories to launch the local manufacturing phase, as Military Factory 200 will manufacture the tracked armored vehicle carrying a howitzer and support vehicles of ammunition and command vehicles, while the Military Factory 100 manufactures the 155/52 mm Korean gun barrel, as well as the armored steel used in production operations.

In addition to transferring the technology of manufacturing sensitive optical, electrical and electronic systems for the first time to manufacture them locally in Egypt, including the automatic fire management system (FCS), which is planned to be produced by the Arab International Optics Company, affiliated with the Egyptian Army’s National Service Projects Agency.

According to the contracts concluded between the Egyptian and Korean sides in 2022, Egypt will receive the first batch of howitzer artillery systems before the year 2025, provided that the components of this batch are jointly manufactured between Egypt and South Korea and then assembled in Egypt, followed by the implementation of all stages of manufacturing and production. In Egyptian military factories after the completion of technology transfer, Egypt will produce about 67% of the components of the artillery system within five years of launching the local manufacturing program.

Egypt aspires to become a regional center for exporting the Korean “Thunder” artillery system, which it will manufacture locally for African and Arab countries, as the Minister of Military Production stated, saying: “We have begun bilateral negotiations with a number of Arab and African countries wishing to acquire the K9A1 howitzer.”

In 2022, Egypt signed a contract worth $1.7 billion with the South Korean Hanwha Group for procurement, technology transfer, manufacturing and local production of the K9A1 EGY 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, known as “Thunder.”

The Korean artillery system consists of the K9A1 155 mm self-propelled howitzer, the K10 advanced ammunition supply vehicle, which works to re-ammunition the howitzers automatically, and the K11 command and control vehicle, which is designed and developed specifically for the Egyptian army.

June 2024

The Israeli website nziv reported that Israel is following with concern the new steps taken by Egypt to build French “Rafale” warplanes on its soil, and this step is considered a tremendous progress in the arms industry in Egypt.

The Israeli media monitored the statements of Major General Mukhtar Abdel Latif, head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization in Egypt, which is responsible for the arms industry, about the partnership with the French company “Dassault” to build Rafale aircraft in Egypt, under the supervision of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Major General Mukhtar explained that a school had been established in the “Helwan” area, south of Cairo, in cooperation with Dassault, to train students in building military aircraft, and that three experts from Dassault were participating in the training.

He pointed out that Dassault will manufacture components and spare parts for Rafale aircraft in Egyptian military factories, in preparation for local production of the entire aircraft in the future.

The head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization confirmed that work is being done with the experts of the French company Dassault to produce locally-made Rafale aircraft, but this may take some time. He added that the French company Dassault provided parts manufactured in Egypt for military aircraft, indicating that Egypt has good relations with all countries of the world. It makes it easier for us to carry out any cooperation.

Egypt has signed two contracts with France to purchase “Rafale” military aircraft from Dassault. The first contract was signed in 2015 and included the purchase of 24 Rafale aircraft. The second contract was announced in May 2021 and included the purchase of 30 Rafale aircraft, bringing the total number. The number of military aircraft that Egypt has purchased from Dassault so far is 54 Rafale aircraft.

Egypt considers the Rafale a powerful military aircraft capable of carrying out long-range missions and carrying advanced weapons systems.

Efforts to develop Egyptian military factories during the year... modernizing weapons and ammunition production lines

1719193460470.jpeg

From June 30, 2023 until today, the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production succeeded in implementing a comprehensive process of developing and raising the efficiency of a number of military factories, which later resulted in many achievements in the fields of military and civilian manufacturing.

During that period, the Ministry completed the development of a number of military factories, led by Abu Zaabal Specialized Industries Company (Military Factory 300), where the company’s weapons and ammunition production lines were developed by adding (8) five-axis CNC machines and (2) Multi-axis machine with a diameter of 52 mm, as well as a multi-axis CNC lathe machine.

This is in addition to rehabilitating the engine foundry at Helwan Castings Company (Factory 9 Al-Harbi) by supplying and installing (2) 6-ton induction furnaces, supplying and installing a furan sand station, and developing nitrocellulose production lines at Abu Zaabal Specialized Chemicals Company (Factory 18 Al-Harbi) by supplying Installation of a new nitrifying press for nitrocellulose.

The efficiency of the european formaldehyde plant was also raised and the efficiency of the “resins/resins” plant at Heliopolis Chemical Industries Company (Military Factory 81) was also increased, with the development and modernization of the two military forming factories at Helwan Engineering Industries Company (Military Factory 99) through the rehabilitation of a 250 vertical ton press and the provision of a 1000 hydraulic press. tons to press the ring and increase the efficiency of (2) Churchill lathe machines.

Abu Zaabal Engineering Industries Company (Military Factory 100) witnessed the development of the steel production unit and raising the efficiency of the continuous casting machine, in addition to the implementation of a project to produce environmentally friendly cardboard containers at the armored production and repair factory (Military Factory 200), and the capsule production line was developed at Qaha Chemical Industries Company ( Military Factory 270) where the capsule washing machine was supplied and installed for the line.

Egypt never suffers from a lack of advanced production lines, but rather from failed management since 1952.
The failure due to the control of the military as leaders over military factories led to the lack of resources for scientific research and development, and their claim of intelligence and superiority over civilians does not exist. On the contrary, in their field of work, they fought 4 wars and were defeated in 3 of them. The desire of the military to control to achieve personal financial benefits is the reason for the failure of the military industry in Egypt. The failure of the Egyptian economy
The private sector is the one that leads the industry. Turkey is the private sector that developed the drones, not army officers, which is what made Turkey export $6 billion and Israel export $13 billion last year, while the military does not develop products that will be taken to the market. Turkey exports more than $900 million in light weapons, while The brigades boast that they exported 50,000 23mm rounds to Iraq or 18 Fahd armored vehicles to an African country, while the Turkish private sector exports thousands of armored vehicles. This is the difference between the triviality and naivety of the fictitious achievements they claim.

The private sector selects products that are more profitable and of higher quality than the military, who may buy a production line for several million, producing an uneconomical product of unacceptable quality globally because it wants to save. The result is inefficiency of the product, inefficiency of the capital cycle, and no profits other than corruption, which cannot be controlled and cannot be prosecuted.

Israel private sector is also controlled by the military..and also most of those civilian scientists belong to the IDF reserve..

Egypt was at war with the entity since its conception.. but I don't understand that you as an Egyptian apparently would say that Egypt was defeated in 3 wars against Israel...unless you consider the 1973 war as a defeat for Egypt..which goes contrary to most Egyptian and world elite stated facts..

Also there is private sector in the Egyptian arms industry..maybe better called semi-private.. and it is not different than the Turkish or the Israeli concept..

The private sector is the most efficient administratively in all countries of the world. In Egypt, the military want to seize everything - power, money, and the economy - as if there was no one else in Egypt. Frankly, there is no escape from them. The economic collapse and their failed projects are what turned Egypt into the current situation.

The private sector that you are talking about in the military industry is a group of retired army generals and also companies affiliated with the intelligence, which you know from personal interviews with them and their humble mentality, so there is no real innovation, but only guidance to foreign companies to transfer some limited technologies in exchange for billion-dollar deals through these small companies, so it is not a real private sector, but rather a confrontation. It closes its doors quickly and does not achieve real achievements. Licensing a Greek drone or a light Italian launch that weighs a ton does not mean that they have achieved high achievements in the absence of real scientific research or development. You know that we have civilian and military innovators who refuse to deal with the entire Egyptian system due to its failure and because the military wants to steal their invention and give them certificates of appreciation and they do not want to. There is no funding or anything, so the presence of this system is the best protector for all international companies to ensure that Egypt is a large international market for their weapons and achievements, because as a failure, their presence guarantees the failure of Egypt, so you notice that France and Germany provide Egypt with grants and aid so that the Egyptians do not depend on themselves, and the military are happy to grant him 200 million euros in exchange for a deal worth 5200 million euros. The beggar mentality has been leading Egypt since 1952, so they cannot succeed all the way, but rather continuous failure.

You should resolve whatever personal problem you may have with the military establishment in your mind. The "three wars" that you claim are proof of whatever fictitious point you are alluding to show that you know very little about national/military dynamics. The first war was in 1948, i.e. during the time of the monarchy when Egypt still had tens of thousands of British troops on its soil and an ill trained and ill equipped army. The second war (1956) was against two world superpowers and their proxy. One of the reasons for the launch of that war in addition to the nationalization of the Suez Canal was the Czech-Egyptian arms deal of 1955. The third war was lost due to major deception on part of the world powers and an incompetent upper echelon which involved the country in a costly war in Yemen and refused to implement recommendations given by other officers.

Your approach to domestic manufacturing of weapons is naive at best. The decision to build and reinvigorate the country's military power was one that was taken out of absolute necessity. The environment necessary to cultivate a larger defense sector relies on the political will and ambition in the presence of an environment that allows you to take risks. Egypt is just beginning to have that. It had it under Mubarak, yet very little actually got done. Was that strictly because of the military? or was it because of the political leadership's weak and passive approach to dealing with domestic and foreign issues and the sustainment of a failing welfare state? Were the people in charge of the Democratic Nationalist Party under Mubarak from the military? No. They were low life cronies who sold the public sector for scraps after running it into the ground. What rank in the army where the people who left the country with crumbling roads? What generals were in charge of the health or education ministries? Whose decision was it to keep subsidies and delay national development and gas integration into homes just for the sake of selling the gas? Was it Abu Gazala or Tantawi that gave "manufacturers" no tariffs if they just assembled their products in the country even if there are no domestically produced components in it and thus destroying national industry? Which member of the SCAF supported the continued inflation of the civil sector and bureaucracy with no real productivity just to keep unemployment down? Throwing it all on the military as an establishment has got to be the most ignorant and child-like approach I have ever seen.

There is plenty to criticize. What needs to be fixed is the inflated bureaucracy, lack of digitization, and lax applications of the law. Whatever title the person has does not matter.

Did you know that Turkey and Israel also started with ToT from other countries!
The story of the Turks obtaining technology from the Israelis. We are the ones who published this information over the past years in the previous Pakistani forum.
But the matter is different. The Turks have pumped 15 billion into scientific research and made tens of billions in arms purchases, and now they are reaping the fruits of their labors. Yes, they have acquired technology from Israel in various fields, including avionics, electronic warfare, missile depots, tanks, and armored vehicles. They have produced armored vehicles with a license from Israel and multiple missiles.
Egypt also obtained weapons worth hundreds of billions over 40 years from all global sources. Whoever said that Egypt does not obtain Israeli weapons constitutes an indirect matter, starting with small arms, Uzi machine guns and Corner Shot® CSM rifles from France and European countries that produce them under license. The same goes for HARPY, which was originally produced by the ASN-301 version. And others. Did the American weapons that were arriving to Egypt do not contain Israeli parts?
