Turkiye is a key player in Somalia that lies on the shores of the Indian Ocean , the Gulf of Aden and pathway to the Red Sea.

In the end this will be only good for Arabs and Egypt. There's absolutely no reason for Somalia to maintain their relationship with Turkey after they get back on their feet.

We have no cultural ties with them, no geographic proximity, no access without the Egyptian Suez canal.

This is what Somalia's trade looks like.

We're making all these investments for roughly 5% of Somalia's trade.

This is retarded

I feel so conflicted about this project....

Radiator people will never understand the strategic significance of Turkey's investments(difference between donations and investments) in Somalia. They will always look at initial things and complain about "radiator grills", not understand what it will lead to.

Turkey managed to secure exclusive rights to Oil and Gas exploration off the coast of Somalia, to help Somalia develop its Navy and in Return 30% of the profits of the oil and gas exploration will go to Turkey. Turkey's space port will be getting built in Somalia and several other benefits, along with a bridgehead into Africa. But these people will only see "radiator grills", the can't imagine the product down the road.

They think only they are intelligent and everyone else in the entire military, intelligence, diplomatic apparatus is a fool.
These folks are supposed to be Tukey's most well groomed and educated ones! They've been to the best schools in Turkey and come from affluent and cultured families. I knew them to be damn smart and well versed in serious matters. I can't understand what's happened to them? I believe they do appreciate these achievements in private.....

We have no aircraft to put on an aircraft carrier. It is very unnecessary to make a naval version of the Hürjet. Kaan is already too big and there is no need to spend billions of dollars and build an aircraft carrier just for Kizilelma and Anka-3.

It is unclear how Anka-3 and Kizilelma will perform on an aircraft carrier.

The project seems very risky to me.

What would be the potential aircraft which would be the compliment to the carrier?

It's too early to confirm that yet

21 m KAAN is not big for a 285 m Aircraft Carrier
and TAI said that KAAN's length will be shortened a little

Russia use 21.2 m SU-33 on Admiral Kuznetsov Aircraft Carrier ( STOBAR )

China use 22.3 m J-15 on Liaoning Aircraft Carrier ( STOBAR )

21m KAAN ( navalized variant ) can take off from 285m Aircraft Carrier which has ski jump

2 x 35.000-40.000 lbs ( 70.000 - 80.000 lbs ) indigenous turbofan engines will give enough ratio of thrust to the KAAN to do it

Official concept design from the Turkish Navy
noteworthy detail captured in the photo was the presence of jets onboard. The drawing featured the indigenous Fighter Jet KAAN

Airctaft Carrier is a long term project ( 10 years )
until 2035 Turkiye will prepare a suitable manned platform to use on Aircraft Carrier

btw there will be twin engine variant of KIZILELMA ( 2 x TF-10.000 turbofan Engines ) which will be bigger than RAFALE

Also TAI develops ANKA-4 unmanned stealth Fighter Jet

So manned and unmanned platforms together would be the potential aircraft to use on Aircraft Carrier in 2035

Navalized KAAN
KIZILELMA-C ( twin engine )
ANKA-3/4

Navalized Hurjet, Kizilelma and ANKA 3 and other jet engined UAVs. Along with helicopters and the usual propeller UAVs like TB3 etc.

And navalized KAAN
Turkish Navy need real platform like KAAN for 285 m Aircraft Carrier

otherwise , No need 285 m Aircraft Carrier if it not carry navalized KAAN or F-35

TCG ANADOLU is enough to carry navalized HURJET , KIZILELMA , TB-3
Turkiye can produce at least 3 Platforms like TCG ANADOLU in price of 285 m Aircraft Carrier

It's too early to confirm that yet in long term ( 10 years ) project

2035 is only 11 years away, have they finalized the design? When will they start construction? 3 ACs in 11 years seems a bit too ambitious.

That guy tends to post exxagerrated stuff on twitter, would not be my primary source, he starts off with some facts but then puts his own spin of it. Turkey is pursuing a bigger aircraft carrier but no details have been given on timeline or amount.

Oh not again this fan-boy! Come on ... even one ac until 2035 would be a feat but "3 Turkish Type Aircraft Carriers by 2035" is even more ridiculous that some Indian wet-dreams. :ROFLMAO:

Totally agree ... did anyone check what facilities China built at Shanghai to build one?
