The topic of the Rohingyas is directly related to the OP.
Tariq Zia spoke of an inclusive and pluralistic Bangladesh of different ethnic groups and religions. Now in the Rohingya context they are not indigenous to Bangladesh but just as Bangladeshi citizens of different ethnic and religious backgrounds have basic rights to human dignity so do they. Therefore they deserve the right to return to their homeland.
Bangladesh has sought to do this peacefully and had dialogue with an ethno-fascist military regime next door. However to no avail, thus the only option is to pursue policies that people such as Zia Rahman did successfully.
As for 'racism' describing the hostility of Mongoloid peoples to Indic peoples of India and Bangladesh is an attempt to counter their racism and reduce their racism which has manifested itself in wholesale slaughter of men, women and children e.g. the Nellie Massacre and false propaganda that only Mongoloid peoples are indigenous to the land.
@MNZGamerX has produced work elsewhere pointing out that the Mongoloid peoples of the CHT are not indigenous to the land and do not have the right to call themselves indigenous/aboriginal (thus implying a lesser status for other Bangladeshi citizens who should be "Banned" from residing in locations in their own country) but it is better to call them 'tribal'.
Chakmas and other Mongoloid peoples can live anywhere in Bangladesh and own land be it:
- Dhaka
- Chittagong
- Sylhet
Anywhere
Whereas I as an ethnic Bengali (Sylheti) cannot live in the CHT and it's a NO-GO zone for Bengalis as far as living there.
In other words they have preferential treatment and I am in some ways a second class citizen in my own country.
We couldn't even relocated Rohingyas to the sparsely populated CHT but Chaitgayas have to put up with an influx of over 1 million foreigners (Rohingyas) to an already heavily populated country.
This Mongoloid hostility and racism to Indic peoples is not just limited to Bangladeshis or Indian Bengali Muslims but also to Bengali Hindus, two of whom were murdered recently in Assam.
So as I said before connect the dots.
1. North-eastern India: Mongoloids 'We don't want Indic people (Muslim or Hindu) here and will carry out violence.'
2. Bangladesh, CHT: Mongoloids 'We don't want Indic people (Muslim or Hindu) here and will carry out violence.'
3. Myanmar, Rakhine: Mongoloids ''We don't want Indic people (Muslim or Hindu) here and will carry out violence.'
We shouldn't have to put up with violence, genocide, ethnic cleansing, massacres and if Tariq Zia is talking about a safe Bangladesh where everyone can feel comfortable that includes me as an ethnic Bengali (Sylheti) and also the Rohingyas.
It’s utterly bonkers.
Ofcourse we should be able to relocate the Rohingyas in CHT if we want to.
Every citizen must have equal rights.
This is not USA - we did not get on a boat to colonise and brutalise native people.
We are the natives of this land.
It’s the Mongoloids who migrated to our land.
South of Himalayan is Indic people north is mongoloid.
They are the intruders. Not us.
