H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

You guys have probably heard of how there can be some kind of 'clustering' effect where geniuses are found near each other around the same time frame. Michelangelo and DaVinci etc etc.
Won't surprise me one bit crooks too form their own 'clusters'. Haha!

Guess that explains the begging clusters too, I suppose.

So polished yet your own Ummah brothers hesitate to even give you visas because they worry you’ll show up in their cities begging. That says plenty.

I was referring to everyday social behavior. Poor people from a suffering economy running to richer countries to beg is an unfortunate reality in Pakistan. And it is not like India is some good, if you are following the Western press. Heck, you Indians even risk the dangerous 'Donkey Route' from Mexico to America.

So you do realise that when you meet Pakistanis in the West, it’s usually the well to do segment of your society, just like the Indians you met in the 90s. But many Indians going to the US for projects today also include first generation graduates from lower income backgrounds. For example, one of my labourer’s son works for Tech Mahindra and was sent to the US for a project. That’s the difference, upward mobility, not just privilege.

Right, but I wasn't comparing the expats.
Even many Western travelers going to both Pakistan and India can tell the difference between the two people.

You know it's not as if Indians are not getting trampled on at least as badly from the labourer class.

The reason they may be tolerated more is that they simply do not push back or saying anything back to their hosts.

So the caste dynamic works to the favour of the Arabs because it desensitises them

did you guys notice, every Ind. here, is either some hot shot businessman, successful seed investor, startup engineer or NRI earning hundreds of thousand of dollars!

and

on education thread, almost every Ind. is either Phd or has multiple certifications!

as if that country has no ordinary people!

interestingly, when I ask, some basic questions about interpretation of figures or behaviors, most of them, are not even interested!

No, not everyone. I am there- a humble middle-aged man, a middle rung manager at a mid-sized Indian firm.

Amar Subramanya has been appointed as Apple's new vice president of AI, replacing long-time executive John Giannandrea, who will continue as an adviser until his retirement next spring.

"AI has long been central to Apple's strategy, and we are pleased to welcome Amar to Craig's leadership team and to bring his extraordinary AI expertise to Apple," Apple CEO Tim Cook said.

"His deep expertise in both AI and ML research and in integrating that research into products and features will be important to Apple's ongoing innovation and future Apple Intelligence features," the company said in its blog post.

Subramanya graduated in electrical, electronics, and communications engineering from Bangalore University in 2001. He joined IBM as a software engineer.

After his 16-year stint at Google, Subramanya has now joined Apple as CVP, reporting to Apple's software chief Craig Federighi, who oversees key areas, including foundation models, machine-learning research, search and knowledge and AI infrastructure.

Under Giannandrea's AI leadership, Apple faced criticism for lagging behind rivals in generative AI adoption. Competitors such as Samsung have been quicker to integrate AI features into their smartphones.

Earlier this year, Apple announced that major artificial intelligence upgrades for its voice assistant Siri would be delayed until 2026. Reports stated that CEO Tim Cook had begun losing confidence in AI chief John Giannandrea's ability to deliver these next-generation AI products on time.

In 2005, he pursued a PhD at the University of Washington and interned at Microsoft for a few months before working as a visiting researcher at the company.

Following his doctoral studies, he joined Google in Mountain View, California, as a staff research scientist. After eight years, he was promoted to principal engineer and then to VP of Engineering in 2019. He headed engineering for Google's Gemini Assistant. In July this year, he briefly moved to Microsoft as Corporate Vice President (CVP) of AI.

are you Brahman and do you hail from BJP majority areas like Mumbai, Gujrat, Bengaluru, Noida etc etc?

do you belong to upper Hindu caste?!

if not, you again prove my point, as it proves, there are less and less ordinary Ind. here!

Nothing could be further from the truth. Most of the 7-11 cashiers look like high school graduates or dropouts from India

I improved myself in those 2 years in Excel and VBA.

i suggest read and practice SQL these days Python

I always found, my closest friends were the people that helped me in finding job

who could be the people, that could help you:

1. your parents and close family (ask them to pass around your CV in their circle)
2. your friends specially of uni. and college
3. friend who has connections (he can also forward your CV in his circles)
