Every day there are reports on both sides delivered to the desks of key personnel on either. These are much more comprehensive and generally more accurate than any speculation here.
That being said “loose lips sink ships” -
Knowledge is more commonplace but so is the urge to go online and talk at an extent.
Especially those with relatives in the military and the fault lies partly with then and partly with the military folk.
Since 2004 on Pakistani forums there is one thing Ive learned - if you know something - don’t say anything until you hear someone else say it.
And then, twist it and mix it up 60% so the actual facts and any potential opsec is so muddled no one can actually tell the truth even if it is plainly written on the page.
Faithfully doing this for 20 years
Issi liay bolna kam kiya almost band kerdiya hae.
I was a super moderator for one of the first Pakistani-owned & administered defence forum sites on the web. During my stint there (early 2000s or so), I realised that 1) many Pakistani posters have a mamay k chachay k taiay ka connection, which told them this & that. This made such a lot of noise that people who genuinely had connections & something valuable to add to the discussion got lost in the background noise.
2) Learned this from Western defence professionals that it is not just the equipment that matters, but how you employ it, the warfighting concepts, and campaign design, etcetera. This is with reference to the peepee measuring contests that are common on Pakistani & Indian, generally all military forums with fanboys galore & mature discussions few & far in between.
3) If you know something through someone, keep it to yourself. Talking about it will result in offending fanboys (fan boys/zealots can be of any age, we have a few in their 40s & 50s approaching the inevitable scythe here as well) of either side who will browbeat you with their intellectual ineptitude & inadequacy, insult you personally and take the joy out of the discourse.
In the end decided that staying quiet & just piping in once in a while on these forums was ok with the more serious discussions left for personal connections made here & elsewhere via other channels.
