China successfully diverted its exports to rest of the world and even increased it post USA 2018 tariff. While whatever India make are easily replaceable in rest of the 3rd world. From low tech IT exports to low tech goods.

It’s a tricky situation. Luckily India has chosen not to put all the eggs in one basket called US. Russia, France and EU figure strongly in our scheme of things.These recent events indicate that to be a wise move.

India can’t even get into a head butting competition either with Trump. It would have to navigate these trucks waters carefully. History has shown that, a little time of no activity can do wonders and dissipate all the pressures.

For the last financial year the data is as given below.

- Merchandise exports to U.S. in FY 2024–25 - US $87.4 b
- Services exports to U.S. (estimated) - US $207 b
- Total exports to the U.S - approximately US $294 - 295b 
- Services now represent - 70% of India’s exports to the U.S.

The total Indian exports were approx $800b. Out of that share of IT was about $200b = 25%. And the share of that to US was $110b=55%.
