India - US Tariff and Relations | News + Updates

Correct.
Think of a situation where you a distributing free stuff to people. They start fighting with each other and your whole program gets spoiled. When you discipline them, are you neutral? You are. But will they see you as neutral?
USA is literally running the world economy at the moment. India earns from USA and tries to be smart. JS and RT started lecturing west on how to be smart and civil. Then India became part of Brics. It's like you are earning from USA and at the same time you are trying to destroy USA. Then India started the rerouting of Russian oil. India tried to rape both Russia and Europe at a time. I heard some Germans expressing their concern over it.
India is simply not realizing what shit they are in. Pakistan is also getting dangerously close to us establishment.

Exactly right, at the same time let's not forget that India also likes to place itself as the head of the global South, yet has worked with the global North on Gaza..... There is now no forum where India is warmly welcome and firmly belonging......SAARC😬

Listening to some of the prominent Indian strategic fingers they can't even fall back on their anti-colonial rhetoric, because they have not said a word in favor of Gaza morally

You could say the West have done a great job, they have pulled India away from a serious global South position just enough to lose its credibility however still very far from having a seat on the table.

India exports to USA make up 27% when including IT. For decades USA has given India preference in trade. 70% of India IT exports goes to USA.

China successfully diverted its exports to rest of the world and even increased it post USA 2018 tariff. While whatever India make are easily replaceable in rest of the 3rd world. From low tech IT exports to low tech goods.

Trump and his economists know they have India by balls.

But what if it's cold, and you are trying to burn someones home to be warm. Would you call it neutrality?
Would you say the same about China as well? Sure India is not China but we still have close to $1.8T in trade. I think we can leverage that to some extent.

You will be surprised that I don't take India as enemy but at the same time, I am also quite alert from India. Weird.
China is totally a different animal. I usually don't comment about China as China never tries to be nice, which is good in a sense.
For India, do trade, live happily and don't cross your limits.. thats all.

Both nations are effectively managing their interests with a superpower
It’s a tricky situation. Luckily India has chosen not to put all the eggs in one basket called US. Russia, France and EU figure strongly in our scheme of things. These recent events indicate that to be a wise move.

India can’t even get into a head butting competition either with Trump. It would have to navigate these trucks waters carefully. History has shown that, a little time of no activity can do wonders and dissipate all the pressures.
Would this happen this time? Let’s wait and see.

You keep putting up completely wrong data and lying through your teeth.
This is not the only time, when you have been found to be lying.

The numbers you have quoted are completely incorrect .

How? $145b IT exports plus $87b goods.

How? $145b IT exports plus $87b goods.

Wrong.

You have quoted that 70% of TOTAL Indian IT export is to US.
Actually, 70% is the share of IT out of Indian export to US and not total IT exports from India.

For the last financial year the data is as given below.

- Merchandise exports to U.S. in FY 2024–25 - US $87.4 b
- Services exports to U.S. (estimated) - US $207 b
- Total exports to the U.S - approximately US $294 - 295b
- Services now represent - 70% of India’s exports to the U.S.

The total Indian exports were approx $800b. Out of that share of IT was about $200b = 25%. And the share of that to US was $110b=55%.

MSMEs account for almost 45% of exports, which is mostly manufacturing.

This ecosystem has taken a lot of time to come up. It survives in this cut throat world through its competitiveness.

Anyone hoping to replace it in a few months is daydreaming. Tariff or no tariff.

If total exports to USA is 295b then thats 1/3 of all Indian exports. Now you understand why Trump have India by balls?

The Indians think they are above the rest in international affairs. When it comes to Pakistan, the entire world including Timbuktu has an edge over it. When it comes to mighty India, not even superpowers can touch it. Indians can defy global pressure without any consequences. India can continue to buy Russian oil and not even the US can stop it. The overconfidence and arrogance is mind-numbing.
