India - US Tariff and Relations | News + Updates

just curious, from where did you pull out the trillions of dollar number ?

You can pull these numbers yourself if you deal with world economies, investments, inflows, business investments, etc. It will take time but in a couple of days you'll know.

Why are you asking? Do you want to return America their $ 3.5 trillion back? OR, tell them they can take away nearly 10 million American jobs back and give it to Americans?

Do what you want mate, you implied Indian drones were being operated in the war and gave no evidence. Lets leave it there shall we?

English is not my mother tongue so leave the posts and see if some native English speaker decide if I implied use of Indian drones.

US adviser Navarro says India's Russian crude buying has to stop
In our analysis, the United States has never trusted India militarily.

China is a core target in US strategic planning. Of course, the United States is also a core target in China's strategic planning.

However, China is the world's factory, and the United States is the world's largest consumer. Chinese goods have completely permeated every aspect of American daily life. If the United States launches a war or other economic action against China, it must first consider alternatives. Otherwise, how will the American people live?

India does possess many inherent conditions to replace China. This is the root cause of the close relationship between Western countries, led by the United States, and India over the past decade. It is also the root cause of India's recent economic boom.

However, when Trump returned to the White House and once again launched an economic war with China, he discovered that the economic relationship between China and the United States had not reversed as he had imagined. China's economic relations with European countries have even become closer. The souvenir shops in Trump Tower are filled with a large number of Chinese-made products...

The Indian manufacturing industry, which the United States had high hopes for, is far from being a substitute for China. Yet, Russian oil, which they have severely sanctioned, is being widely sold to European countries through India, taking market share from American oil... And so, Trump is furious...

As for US-India military cooperation,
The US is simply dumping outdated weapons on India to soothe the fragile hearts of Indians. After all, renowned global arms dealers are using "India" as their ATM.
The so-called Quad is nothing more than a political gimmick.

Ah, yes, that old excuse, your English on most other posts seems fine, but now it is an issue. Anyway, it is off topic and boring so let us move on

Very well put

Again, it said indian MADE COMPONENTS in the drones NOT indian MADE DRONES!. Read it carefully.

The posts are there. Not interested in one stop one shop of judge, jury and witness on you lot.

I will take his comments as more knowledgable about US policy then yours, no offence.

Anyway, however you spin this, F-35 is not on the cards, probably never was.

India's 5th Gen options just narrowed...
Aisay zor zor se le raha hai us ki 🤣

He is the White House Trade advisor, regardless of your opinion.

Anyway, seems like F-35 is a no go for India

F-35 has been dangled repeatedly - also the latest models of F-16, F-15 and F-18

No, 4th gen were offered. F-35 was never offered or sent to India or even evaluated by Indian pilots. It was a no go.
Lockheed has never even mentioned India as a serious prospect.

Let us get over this fantasy.

No, not at all, but we have a flow of JF-17s, J-10Cs and in the future J-35s that we can count in, on average PAF has been gaining new fighters at the rate of 1 Sqd a year.
We may be awaiting new J-10Cs or hop directly to the J-35, that is murkey right now and JF-17 production is dedicated to Azerbaijan.

However, let me put it in very clear terms, IAF has not received a single new fighter in almost 4 years. Not a single one.

Tejas not coming through yet, and Rafale deliveries have stopped. There is nothing in the pipeline other then hoping Tejas comes good and MRFCA is signed.
Tejas is finally gaining some momentum of late — with 11 units in the final stage of delivery. With GE committing to supply 2 engines per month and the Nasik line getting activated, HAL is expected to scale up to 24 units per year by 2026 (though, given HAL’s track record, there are still plenty of “ifs”).

On top of that, don’t be surprised if India announces 2–3 squadrons of Su-57s and a few additional Rafale follow-up orders through G2G deals. India’s real issue is not a lack of resources but decision paralysis. With a likely conflict ahead, some prioritized G2G transactions may very well be on the cards.

as per the world bank figures, between 2000 to 2025, FDI inflows from US to India was $70.6 billion, making USA the 10th largest FDI source into India .. hence again my question.. where did you get the data for rest of $3.43 trillion ?

Sorry, but any statement by anyone on Tejas is of no value right now, I would have thought you would be aware of the mess here, but if you need to maintain optimism, fine by me. Not a single MK1A delivered so far in 2025.

Agreed, Rafale and SU-57 are Indias only real options. Either way, feeds into Russian and French R&D.

Also, any new deal will take at least 3 years for aircraft delivery (with SU-57 probably much longer). By then as planes trickle in, IAF will be facing mass obsolsence. I really do mean mass.
