India has a huge edge with closer naval bases. If India wants to score brownie points large fleet of corvettes is all you need for anti-piracy operations.

All these operations are making Indian navy a battle hardened navy.... its giving us an opportunity to analyze how effective we are able to operate far away from mainland, how effective is our navy to handle potential ballistic or cruise missile attacks on their warships and then retaliate.....

I want peace with everyone but from pure military point of view its a God gifted opportunity for Indian navy...... after all we are all here to discuss pure defense......

I think because of our close proximity to Red Sea, corvettes are more than enough to handle these pirates. We should make more of these next generation corvettes for future maritime operations to keep the operational cost low.
