Indus Water Treaty: Discussion, News & Updates

Been following IWT threads for few years.
When India politely asked for renegotiation of the treaty few years ago we got an arrogant no. No mending of their policies vis-a-vis India and supporting terrorism in India.

When India quashed IWT and said deal with it, a typical "DABDA" response with a witty humor.
'oh, the water diverted is so miniscule", " oh, we have enough buffer", "oh, China will divert India's share of water"
essentially accepting that there is no response from their side.

Its funny to see the Pakistanis in this forum who still believe that they can bring India to the negotiation table. The bus is long gone.

Just learn to live with the consequences.

Bring India to the negotiating table? Paj fella, your leaders are now asking for talks.

India can "cancel" any treaty they want, we will wait for Indian actions not words. If I believed everything the Indian Government claimed there would be 200-300 Tejas flying all over Punjab right now.
Best keep the chest thumping for actions, not words like "Isolate Pakstan" or "Things would be different with Rafale"

Thought you lot would have learnt this lesson by now,, but much to Pakistan's benefit, you lot never seem to learn.....

I like that Pakistan is more forcefully claiming the history of the Indus Valley Civilization as its own in this statement.

“Touch our water, and we’ll cut off your hand, just like our brave armed forces did last year during war.” Pakistan warns India over violating the Indus water Treaty.

At last! Now we are talking in the way Indians understand. No more diplomatic niceties or arbitration. Indians see that as weakness.

Their move now

See he is saying we are just putting this as a show for the world to expose India. Otherwise Pakistan doesn't need anyone help to get our water.

"Pakistan should not give an impression that we won the battle but surrendered at the banks of rivers."
Bilawal Bhutto also explores nuclear weapons option to restore Pakistan’s water flowing from the rivers coming from Kashmir.

Lol. You asked. We declined.

Did we break the treaty at any point?

Did India break the treaty?

Please be clear. This word "quashed" you used....it's not quite the same as "broke".

I want to know if ONE SINGLE Indian phraand on these pages thinks that India BROKE the treaty.

Words like "quash" and "abeyance" may sound clever in whatsapp communities but we need to know categorically if India broke a signed and ratified treaty that was made between two sovereign nation states. Such an act tells us what we need to know about the reliability of doing business with baniya qom.

So, come on, cough up - yes or no question. No excuses or whataboutery or obfuscation like the rest of your compatriots have been doing. Own your acts.

Did India break the terms of the IWT?

There it is.

The darpokh qom is afraid to formally document their own war dead until over a year after the event. Similarly, they seem to be terrified of simply stating loud and clear "we broke the terms of the IWT that we had originally agreed to".

Why is Hindustan so afraid all of a sudden? Is the old adage true about barking dogs?
