Larijani embraces realism:
In recent days, I was speaking with one of the world leaders who is also a member of the Security Council. I said to him: Why did you establish these international laws? When we are attacked and you, as Security Council members, do nothing, what is the purpose of these international laws? He said to me: These laws are nonsense, because the international arena is about power!
This is the reality; if you do not preserve the elements of your strength, you will receive blows. This is unfortunate, but the international arena is like this, resembling a jungle, yet this is an existing reality.
Whether you accept this reality or not, if you do not accept it, you will receive greater blows. Therefore, you must strengthen the elements of your power.
Domestically, your people are the foundation; you must preserve your people, maintain their cohesion, meet their needs, and be close to them, not address them in a commanding manner, but rather understand their feelings.
At the regional level, you also have capabilities; use them to be united in the region. The belief that Hezbollah or the resistance forces are a burden on us is a strategic error. In my opinion, they need our assistance, and we too must benefit from their assistance; because creating isolation does not serve Iranian national security.
