I still think it has a very low chance of success, and war is inevitable.
Even if war is inevitable, my point holds true. iran needs western liquidity and investment flows to reach greatness. I told you guys this for years.
China realized this, after Mao died they did a complete 180 and embraced western capitalism and open their economy and did substantial economic reforms.
Soviet Union did not do this and maintained complete communist control over the government and by the time it realized communism doesn’t work at scale, it was too late and it imploded.
Iran’s no US/no Europe/no China dependency has been the dumbest economic policy since the Soviets.
To paint a picture Google, MSFT, Amazon, Meta, OpenAI are spending over 600B dollars THIS YEAR ALONE on building AI infrastructure. One of those massive AI data centers (stargate) is being built in UAE.
No one can match western capital investment right now, not even China. This is what even the Arabs have realized.
So if Iran wants to be rebuilt, it needs Western capital to do it. Iran simply doesn’t have the capital or technological expertise to do it on its own. Thus Iran needs to adapt China’s mindset post Mao and openly reintegrate with the West and stop its Middle East aspirations for at least a couple of decades until it regains its strength and/or the world enters a new paradigm that is conducive for it to go after an expansionist policy again.
Who knows what the world will look like in 10 years once Superinelligent AI (ASI) comes online. It may even work in Iran/China/Russia’s favor at weakening the American empire.
