Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

U.S troops are not amassing

U.S troops are making themselves a target

Iraq had land forces but No Way to strike targets, so the allies could amass half a million men to invade Iraq and when they came up against resistance they used the air force to bomb the Iraqis to clear them out of the way

Iran has multiple ways to strike against its enemies, and when the target becomes juicy enough, Iran can and will burn any amassed force into the ground

Everyone with a fucntioning brain knows that these soldiers are just slop for the meat grinder. With the proliferation of FPV drones and other cheap tactical intelligence gathering drones, american soldiers are in for a ride they'll hardly be able to forget( granted they survive).

Kharg may be the deception.

The US military has the ability to surprise.

They do indeed, although if anyone can remember Operation Eagles Claw, one can say US Special Operations history v Iran is not exactly full of stellar acheivement...

It's a failure but not many US troops have been killed so far.
The US can control the oil price after this war is over. And Trump is not that stupid to let oil prices stay high when they approach mid-term elections.

We need body bags for that to happen.
Just a long term economic impact on US economy that is fuel dependent is enough in my opinion.

You think sane Americanos arent thinking what the funk is this guy doing? He is destroying the reputation of the superpower - he is destroying and financially screwing the US.
You must have your head buried deep in the sand bro if you cant see the dire humiliation this twat has brought onto sane Americans
I consider myself to be a sane American. Haven't time to bury my head in the sand. Hard to see the big picture if I were to.

Will be a blood bath, considering Iranians are hitting what they want at will even after pissraelis have dropped so called 15,000 bombs in Iran, Iranians must already have a plan to turn any Kharg Island Invasion into a meat grinder.

Just can't believe how the fudge US sleepwalked into this debacle. US isn't winning this one. Iran is gonna make GCC hurt so bad they will remember for two generations.

I really hope diplomacy works, for one the economic aftershocks stop, and two, Pakistan gets the honor how ever much of it somehow.
It really depends since air supremacy means US can provide air support at will but if Iran has even a quarter of what the Japanese had set up at Iwo Jima it could result in quite a few US casualties before the Island is taken not to mention the Iranians could do a beserker mode and basically shut down all oil out of GCC except KSA.

Which could make TONS of money providing a land route and pipeline for other GCC states to ship their oil out - maybe MBS sees this angle??

Maybe its not about Iran for KSA as much as teaching the cousins a lesson in interfering and working against Saudis - eh?

Let them die. I bet no one will shed tears for them except by their families.

With control on kharg island strait of Hormuz gone iran will loose most of its leverage. Iran should act before US forces gather as a whole group to strike Iran. Target them and make them weak.

They will portray it as a Pearl Harbour type event and gain support of US public, to go crazy on Iran. The narrative will be "Iran killed X number of US soldiers while we were having negotiations".

Though, of course they are gonna attack as soon as they are done preparing anyway ...

Its a tough choice.

There might be a slight little chance that this is all being done as a pressure tactic to force Iran into negotiations, rather than an actual attack ... though remote, but that could be the best one can hope in this situation.

You need to remember the circumstances behind that operation. We learned a lot from that operation. Lessons that were not repeated during Shield / Storm.

I don't think so. The American politics is very much party-dependent. The Republicans are not going to switch over to the Democrats easily. The Dems are just too weird for most of them. They need stronger reasons for that to happen. Body bags are very convincing though.

I consider myself to be a sane American. Haven't time to bury my head in the sand. Hard to see the big picture if I were to.
Again, you can lose one third of the Senate. So, Trump can be impeached and will be impeached in that case.

Well the circumstances of pearl harbor and this war are very different.
At this time US has no public support.

What number do you think that would take?

During the war in Vietnam, the average weekly number of US KIA was approximately 1100. There was no move to impeach Johnson and later Nixon.
Back in Vietnam the channels were some respected journalists and media independents that provided images at their relatively slow streams.

What do you when it floods your tiktok and instagram regardless of maddening moderation?

We do a of effort to keep ptsd and other minor casualties quiet until they are not immediately relevant - we cannot control things being posted by non US personnel.

I can hear the CCR playing already
