I suspect Trump is delaying war until the US has precise intelligence on the locations of top Iranian military leaders (particularly Ali Abdollahi and Majid Mousavi) and an opportunity arises to target them.

How would that alter the course of this war?

Great news for the region for the Americans to leave but a nightmare for Israel. The mighty Lion of Judah won't be able to face even Hezbollah without significant American support.

Cannot happen though, Israel is Usa outpost in the middleeast, they will protect them economically and militarily, in another words Usa will not leave until Israeli exists, and no doubt Israel has its own agenda, to expand territory, to keep neighbours in flame or under their thumb, and keep their militaries in check.

Don't be so sure. America is a democracy after all and a big change of public opinion is always impossible to ignore. Thus I see this as Israel's 'last chance': As long as both Trump and Netanyahu are sitting in their offices at the same time, Israel can count on almost unlimited American support.
In the unlikely event of a real progressive Democratic President in 2028, you'd see a very different American stance in the Middle East. Even now, if Trump has a heart attack today, a POTUS Vance will be significantly different about this war. You may bookmark this post.

What I am reading here is the US knows this could trigger a restart of the war and they are low on interceptors and probably precision strike weapons. They are biding time I am sure of it, I hope Iran is also using the time to re-arm.

Whenever his trades are in loss, he tweets.. whenever he wants to change the direction of trades he tweets. He manipulates the market.. we all know Iranians not going to talk on uranium and this Talk cannot be successful. Second, Americans want to keep busy iran and let Israelis have time to destroy Lebanon to occupy more territories and . destabilize more countries weekends more countries.. UAE took the path of destabilization being Israeli friend. And Lebanon took the path of resistance like Iranians, American and Israeli policy is to destabilize all region to allow Israelis to settle down their power on rest of all Arab countries

Granted that power, especially to wage wars, are increasingly concentrated in the POTUS, there had been cases where where the POTUS had to bow out of elections/lost because of foreign policy debacles; Johnson and Carter come to mind quicky.
I'd just say that if today Trump has a heart attack and Vance becomes the POTUS, you'd see a quick wrap up of this war. Israelis and their lobbies in America, though funding both Trump and Harris in 2024, left no doubt who was their much preferred candidate: Trump and he has not disappointed them.
But it is a separate debate.
