What are you basing this on? Are you not seeing what is happening? Striking tankers is 'lost control'? You think shipping 1-2 tankers a day with sheer fear and terror and aerial cover is sustainable? Or 'open transit'? Come on.

Iran will reply of course. If they don't, it's a slippery slope. We need to keep the eye on the meta level here: the US lost. Simple as that. Can they still hit and bit, sure. Iran can and must too. That being said, Iran cannot give an inch anywhere. Either the MOU is implemented, or it's dead and Iran needs to close Hormuz again. Simple as that. We didn't strategically defeat them to be back to square one during 'negotiations'. Just the way it is. Either the US does what it claimed it would do, or back to war for even better terms for Iran later. No pussyfooting, this is existential. First of all you cannot force a country to use your territorial waters. So no Iran couldn’t put that explicitly in the MoU, legally speaking.

So it was agreed between Iran and Oman that they would set up a mechanism to equally charge tolls. Then share that revenue. Hence Iran would get revenue regardless of which lane was used.

But then later U.S. told Oman if you charge tolls we will obliterate you. And Oman backed off the idea and became complicit with the West and Arabs.
