Iraq wasn't one of the strongest , it just had a lot of gears but no brains and saddam was a fool just like Gamal Abdel Nasser. Sadaam wasn't a smart leader just a dicatator who happened to rule a nice country like Iraq and he demolished it.Iraq was forced to pay compensation to Kuwait for the war. And the US imposed more sanctions on Iraq and further weakened it until they finished the job in 2003. Iraq went from one of the strongest countries in the region in 1991 to a failed state in 2003.
Trust me, it's not the 90s anymore and that's what worries me. It's the age of data and AI and the US has complete, absolute dominance in that. And Iran is falling behind every year, particularly in science and technology. Even in science production, we'll soon fall behind Pakistan, Egypt and the Emirates. We've already fallen behind Turkey and Saudi Arabia in recent rankings.
Again, Iran is not Iraq, Iran is way smarter and stronger
