Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

How did every other empire in history fall in that case? Why is the US so special that it can sustain its own imperial project indefinitely without consequence?
It is more to do with the era we live in and the baseline standard of living with technological advancements of mankind.

There is no internal strife in the empire due to: (a) tight controls in this information age, and (b) people are happy to accept the blue pill because even under economic strain, you're not dying from famine, succumbing to plagues, or watching your family get chopped up by barbarian chieftains or criminal gangs.

There is a layer of "tolerance" in the system because living standards are so much higher than ever before, back when the great empires of old would visibly teeter and fall over the precipice. Will a 50% or even a 100% shift in fuel prices actually cause subversion of the zionist project to the point that the empire collapses? Would the military ever revolt en masse? Would any revolt of the judiciary or even of the people occur over a matter of bombs dropping on brown skinned people thousands of miles away? Doubtful. Very doubtful. Americans DID risk everything to revolt against the British over matters of their own interest. But they would only go so far for someone else's interests and that would be well well short of overthrowing the Republic.

The only solution (unless the economic siege can be tolerated and accepted) would seem to be some form of actual military defeat of USA, which is too much for Iran to achieve at present. Israel and the GCC sure, but not USA.

It seems the U.S. will be HEAVILY bombing Iran after the mid terms. Trump wants to avoid rocking the boat before then to avoid hurting his parties chances any more than he already has.

But after mid terms, Trump is a free unchained man to do whatever he wishes with no political repercussions
Midterms have a limited impact on the Iran war. The real reasons are lack of military options, lack of offensive and defensive missiles and the vulnerability of the GCC to Iranian attack. That won't change for many years.

This is the person that wants to rule Iran and "make it great again"

He never worked of his whole life despite being nearly 70 years old. His father, when fleeing Iran for the 5th time, took 60 million dollars from public treasury for himself and his heirs

Despite this fact, he never got himself a nose job and instead bought luxury cars and watches with 5 star resorts for himself

This person is the Vice President of the United States, he is heavily suspected of consuming massive quantities of cocaine while at the same time contradicting himself saying that drugs should be eradicated from the US

This is the president of the United States

He is claiming for the 59th time that he is close to defeating Iran despite the fact that he defeated Iran 70 times already

It is well reported that he, on numerous occasions, shown himself completely naked in luxury hotels in hopes of raping hotel staff

This is the Holy Trinity of the Iran war

@Persian Gulf

the strange thing is he basically admits the Strait is not fully closed and others are still exporting oil, even though Iran is not and it was IRI's red line that if Iran cannot export oil, no one can

the guy who wanted to fight Iraq forever has become a dove, wow

The Trump administration wants to control the crude prices through bogus news releases. This time the market doesn't believe their claims.

I'm unfortunately inclined to agree with you.

Hope I'm wrong

The midterms do actually have an impact of the war. If Democrats seize the House and the Senate, they could pass a bill in the House of Representatives to end funding the war, and if they could gain a limited number of Senate Republicans to join them, they could gain the 60 votes needed to override the presidential veto.

This war is unpopular, and many Senate Republicans have their terms ending beyond 2028. That means they could use the opposition of the American people to grow a backbone and withstand Trump's bullying.

Trump himself knows it, and hence the reason he desperately needs the Strait of Hormuz to be fully open before the midterms election.

They could but they won't, Democrats are controlled opposition for the Republican ruling party, nothing more.

Will simply never happen.
