They just need to cover western Iran and parts of Iraq where Israelis are shooting ALBMs from. But 20-30 is still not enough and they won’t last long without the rest of the infrastructure we don’t have

How will they cover that airspace when they're outnumbered by F-35s supported by awacs that they can't get close enough to detect without being fired on? Even before that, how will they survive on the ground when Iran can't detect incoming attacks anyways? These will be the first targets for said albm attacks.

One squadron of 20-30 cannot cover a nation the size of eastern europe. Plus you act like these won't be high priority targets to be destroyed on the ground.

At what range can it detect a low rcs aircraft like an F-35? And is that range higher than the range of an Aim-120? If not, then it's useless.

It is a simple problem, can an Su-35 lock and launch on an F-35 first or the other way around?

Su35 are not just fighters. Are multirole fighters.

Remember also that F35 need to be close to Su35, which flies faster, higher altitude and can much easier outmatch the AIM120 amraams because they have a non scape zone smaller when used with faster aircrafts like Su35.

So even flying a F35 is not that easy to shoot down a Su35.

You are absolutely correct. The Su-30/35s are set to replace the F-4Es of the Tactical fighter squadrons in Tabriz and Hamedan, not the F-14 Squadrons in Isfahan.

Just wait for those Su35. Wonder if IRIAF would also have Su30SM2. Those are two seat aircrafts and are more suitable for electronic attack and surveillance. Both of them would boost IRIAF.

In the previous "conflict" where the IDF/AF was the primary driver of operations- many of these assets were sitting at Karachi and another PAF base with tacit "warning" given that targeting these assets would lead to shooting down of the aircraft attempting it.

Most of them were not flyable aircrafts.

If you check carefully Google maps, you will find that being that distribution have been the same during months, many engines or props (C130) were off because of maintenance or overhaul duties.

Do you have proof all 7 IL-76 were not flyable condition? When for that plane Iran has access to spare parts thru Russia and former Soviet bloc countries?

I find it hard to believe 21 aircraft at the base were all not in flyable condition used as spare parts. several? Sure logical. 25+ not flyable? Seems like copium.
