Strange Iran keeps crawling back to Russia despite so many recent betrayals. Perhaps new Iranian foreign policy is to make the worst possible decision every time? That would explain their recent actions.

Because Russia at its core seeks western approval... a step child seeking to mingle in with the rest. Except, Russians are outcasts and will remain so... hitting every pitfall along their sorry path.
Which inadvertently has pricked mideast the most... as an alternative for ideology and arms... stung at the most inopportune of times... outed and compromised. Unless a regional framework is reached with a local customs union, currency, trade and technical/technological established it will be open to western poaching in a good cop, bad cop routine.
It is about time that the region is once again cordoned off and assimilated regionally... suffocating the rats.
