The last time that US was kind of on a " war footing” was 3 years ago during the pandemic, US was just running out of everything, masks, ventilators, hazmat suits , event toilet paper.

America is way more reliant on China than most people think. Remember Chinese drone markers account for 90 percent of commercial drone market share. Just look at Ukraine war for example. And look at solar panel.5g commercialization. Once china start mass producing she takes over majority of world market share
 
China is currently accounts for 60 percent of ship building industry.china jiangnan shipyard alone out produces all 7 US naval shipyards combined. And china has thousands of shipyards and hundred that can be used to build warships. The US don't have enough missiles with long range to hit china shipyards plus u have to go through layers of defenses gl with that
 
China currently has a production rate of 3 nuclear submarines type 093b and 2 type 039c per year that's 5 per year while type 095 and 096 are currently in production. Once china mass produce em it's game over!
 
Also 200+ fighter planes a year soon j-31 will be in service hopefully by 2026china can build one Israeli Air Force a year if she really wanted to 😂

China is attacking America on all fronts taking market share left and right. Evs, green tech, soon semiconductor (china is projected to take 60 percent of legacy chips by 2030) ,5g , shipbuilding, rare earth, comac, and many more.... China is currently building 30 nuclear powerplants and 11 most just got approved that's 41 nuclear power plants under construction and will be in service in 5 years from now.
 
America can't compete let alone india which can't deliver a single tejas mk1a this year and delayed til November because no engine haha. Remember tejas is a light aircraft which is comparable to jf-17 china only operates middle and heavy aircrafts j-10c,j-11,j-15d,j-16d j-20 and soon j-31 and also working on 6th generation fighter
