J-31 to be inducted soon| Pilot training reportedly in progress

Also, something that boggles my mind after having made that statement is also information/first hand peek on this.

Rolls Launches the Spectre Electric this year and Pakistanis have already brought in 10-12 of these into country with their associated duties…
This utter disconnect in terms of elite vs dying failed economy just surprises me.

The size of the Pakistani economy is extremely understated. There must be an incentive for the elite in Pakistan to understate their economy, else it makes no sense. Having traveled to Pakistan and many other developing countries, the wealth and standard of living, not to mention infrastructure in Pakistan easily matches, if not supersedes India and other countries.

Pakistan is not as poor as people claim. Nigeria, Bangladesh, Egypt etc have higher gdp than Pakistan. There’s simply no way.

Well you should venture outside Urban and Central Punjab and youll see the real dilipidated conditions.

That’s the norm for every developing country. In fact, I would say, even by that metric, Pakistan fares well. The only area of exception is interior Sindh. The rest don’t look out of place.

Not only interior Sindh mate, Southern Punjab, Balochistan, South KP. There's a world outside of Central Punjab too. Khuzdar in Balochistan doesn't has gas or electricity for most part of day for example.

Again, that’s not unique to Pakistan. Same story repeats itself in India, Bangladesh, Nigeria etc

Umm… NO
Not even close and if there is any its the 1% maintaining a facade. Indian wealth surpasses that of any Pakistani in general.

Maybe this statement was perhaps true in some relative terms during the 60s boom in west Pakistan but not even close anymore

Question is why is the Pakistani goverment not rebasing the economy?

"The estimate of total GDP of Nigeria increased from 42.4 trillion naira (US$270 billion at exchange rates) to 80.2 trillion naira (US$510 billion at exchange rates), an 89% increase."

Pakistan real nominal gdp is probably around 600-700 billion USD. Real GDP PPP should be minimum 2 trillion USD.

.

Whether we are correct or misreading what looks like an opposite situation on the ground vis a vis military R&D and procurement only time will tell.
Grey economy is in pkr. Military purchases are in dollar. They have to go thru SBP as they are in the range of billion.

The question is what are PTI and PPP doing? No one is stopping them to improve things within their own provinces and build infrastructure? N has is shit but they did give us alot of infrastructure which is visible and not run on vibes and bogus police reforms and educational reforms.

Some people built dream castles.

not sure of the context
It came from one of your earlier comments here about a grey economy pushing military projecys in Pakistan and your surprise at something you found out. Ypu didnt mention what you found, so that was My question

Not intending to troll or mock, but I've noticed diaspora folks have zero clue about the realities of their own countries and tend to deny the obvious.

And Nigeria/Bangladesh like nations fake their GDP data as long as they can until its over. Nigeria's GDP crashed a few weeks ago due to a crash in Naira caused by a balance of payments crisis.

India is probably the most developed and wealthy 3rd world country, or as I call it, the best worst country. No one can compare tbh.

Pakistan did rebase the economy 2 years back which increased GDP by 17% from $296 billion to $347 billion.

And Nigeria's GDP numbers are fake, and no amount of fudging in the name of "rebasing" actually works when there's nothing to back it up.

Pakistan's GDP, if anything, is overstated.
