Keel laying ceremony of Second Hangor Class Submarine held at Karachi Shipyard

As mentioned in other PN thread, the following is the most practical choice...

PN ought to concentrate on Chinese SSKs that are in development phase based on the 039C (4k tonnes) class design with VLS (like South Korean SSKs).

There are unsubstantiated rumours that the Chinese are developing mini reactor of this type.

It would be ideal if PN went that approach & 8 such AIP-SSKs (N) with VLS would extensively enhance PN capabilities & refrain from having to make significant investments in SSNs to counter IN's SSN threat.

Further, Hangor & Augusta fleet will complement this type while PN is also in talks with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for their S800/1000 Shallow water SSK based on U212/4 design to replace midget subs.

See that what I was trying to explain to you about construction process, We all can agree that Hangor submarines are under construction because we all heard milestones of construction process. Last year we heard about first milestone "Steel Cutting" of this second sub, and now we are hearing "Keel Laying".

But you are persistent that Jinnah Class frigates are under construction without "Steel cutting" milestone which should be the first official announcement by PN/KSEW to begin construction. Those frigates are only under construction in your imaginations at the moment. Hope we will hear the news of first JCF steel cutting only then everyone will agree that first JCF is under construction. Don't rush things and keep wishlist separate from the reality.

On these subs, I doubt these PN SSPs having VLS. However, they'd sure be able to fire missiles with torpedo tubes.

Yes that's correct, the 039B design it's based on has no VLS.

Vls are been looked at or planned for subs but I don't think they are slated for hangoor class either build in pakland or CN

Hi,

Diesel subs are quiter than the nuc nuclear subs---.
yeh , but Diesels have fuel and power limitations and the time they can remain underwater and at sea is small.

One Keel Laying Ceremony after another but not a single one inducted yet.🤬

Hi,

Both diesel-electric and nuclear-powered submarines have their advantages and disadvantages when it comes to stealth and quietness.

Diesel-electric submarines are generally quieter than nuclear submarines when running on battery power alone, as they have no nuclear reactor noise. They are often called "silent runners" because they can operate without the noise generated by a nuclear reactor. However, when they need to recharge their batteries, diesel-electric submarines have to surface or come near the surface to run their diesel engines, which can increase the risk of detection.

On the other hand, nuclear-powered submarines can operate submerged for long periods without the need to surface for refueling or recharging batteries. While they do have the continuous hum of the nuclear reactor, modern designs have significantly reduced this noise, making them very quiet compared to earlier models. Nuclear submarines can also sustain higher speeds for longer durations, which can help them evade detection.

In essence, while diesel-electric submarines may have an edge in absolute silence during battery-powered operations, nuclear submarines offer greater endurance and flexibility, often making them quieter over extended periods of operation.

We need nuke subs ASAP, whatever the cost
Not really unless Pak is fighting against polar bear navy in antarctic.

Pakistan is fighting against india and protecting its sea.
Modren subs with AIP can stay submerged for 1 to few weeks.

Cheaper and more feasible to operate subs which has a modified versions ans better developed Babar for this role
It will literally give 2nd strike capability even if Pakistan loses all of its land assets.

Imagine single sub being few hundred mils to billion.
Imagine lossing that asset not feasible to operate or develop. When IMF is keeping Pakistani economy on afloat

What does Hangor mean.. ?
Even Google search results nothing at top .

If we buy it will be a few billion if we make them it will be few hundred million. we shouldn't put a price to Pakistan's security, let us learn from the Arab mistakes.

Hangor means shark in Bengali. The other two Daphne class subs in PN were also named similarly. Shushuk is a bengali word for river dolphin, while Mangro is shark in Sindhi.
As long as the sailors aren't chewing paan onboard it doesn't matter what they are called.

After this our goal should be working with China on a Nuclear Submarine which has VLS to carry close to 100 cruise missiles.
cruise missiles are too slow we need submarine launched hypersonic nuclear missiles SLHNM
