He did well in school, graduated as valedictorian, went to top most universities, worked on Wall St, made his own companies and became a billionaire, married well, has kids, the works! There are a lot of folks in America who are attracted to this kind of image. Mostly they are college educated.

MAGA has a lot of middle class folks as well who just want their kids to be succesful. Mixed bunch. Many former immigrants. Many who are first generation middle class who made it by education. Lots of helicopter parent types. Many blacks who are scared for their kids that they will fall to the crime and drugs because it is all to real for them.

Many are converts because he spent a lot of time in the trails actually TALKING to the people. He worked hard on campaign even though he never won.

There is a reason why he said the shit he did.

Actually, when he joined even his law school in yale, he still kept on working remotely. He has shared his income tax returns. The guy had made quite a bit even before graduating law school.

Actually people from his old employer helped him in getting started. His initial investments came from his former employer AFAIK.

I don't think Elon Musk is a classic "scammer" as he played a major part in developing the technologies for Space-X which now leads the world in rocket technology.

He is a politician. He says things which his base want to listen. And yeah there are people who want to listen how fucked up present is and how past was better. How culture has degraded.

His ploy failed because it generated push back that it did. Nothing major actually. He is still 800-900 million in networth. He still has a good 30-40 years left if nothing goes really bad.
