According to the Korean Yonhap Agency, Defense Minister Shin Won-sik revealed to reporters the results of his Middle Eastern tour that led him to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, saying that he explained to the Saudi side South Korea’s plans to develop sixth-generation fighters.

A senior official at the ministry, who accompanied Minister Shin during his Middle Eastern tour, said that Saudi Arabia is paying attention to developing sixth-generation killers. He asked the Saudi side about South Korea’s plans, and the Korean side explained these plans.

The official said that the Korean side presented its plans to develop sixth-generation fighters based on the KF-21 fighter, and the Saudi side expressed great interest in the plans.
