Eraf Company signs an agreement with the Spanish NTGS to manufacture and transfer ALAKRAN system technology..
NTGS, manufacturer of ALAKRAN mobile mortar system and IRAF Defense Company of Saudi Arabia, have signed a partnership agreement to manufacture and integrate ALAKRAN on a suitable local vehicle platform, in Saudi Arabia. In line with Saudi Vision 2030, the agreement will help boost the economy by obtaining spare parts and manpower from local sources. With ERAF taking the lead, the local organization will market ALAKRAN exclusively in Saudi Arabia with the aim of supplying the Saudi Armed Forces.
The agreement was signed by Juan Carlos Estrella, CEO of NTGS, and Fahad Al-Amil, Vice President of ERAF at the World Defense Expo, held from February 4 to 8, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where ALAKRAN is displayed on the ERAF Stand XB5.
ALAKRAN is a versatile and flexible system, designed with mission-critical capabilities to meet the key tactical challenges faced on the modern high-density battlefield. The fully digital and automated mortar system is easy to use and has proven effective in a wide range of operational environments including urban, desert, forest, mountain and snowy areas. ALAKRAN has proven its combat efficiency and is currently “in service” in many active war zones around the world. It can be easily integrated into almost any 4x4 vehicle with a payload of at least 2 tons, and outperforms competitors by leveraging patented technological breakthroughs to provide superior mobility, precision, precision, firepower and crew safety.
The Alakran mortar system needs only 30 seconds to be ready to fire, two seconds to re-aim after shooting, five seconds to aim at a new target, and 15 seconds to be on the move again. The system can be operated with a crew of two and the vehicle can carried a total of 40 rounds located on storage boxes on each side of the vehicle. This extraordinary capability together with its logistic vehicle appearance makes Alakran a formidable weapon system.
NTGS Chairman Julio Estrella said: “This agreement with ERAF will open a new chapter for ALAKRAN in Saudi Arabia. We have made a firm commitment to our partners and the local economy to continue developing and manufacturing the system using locally sourced parts.” And resources to meet the needs of the Kingdom’s armed forces.”
“We look forward to strengthening this partnership further,” said Abdullah Al-Amil, Chairman of ERAF. ALAKRAN is a globally sought-after and combat-proven system, and our agreement with NTGS is consistent with our dedication to supporting the Kingdom’s current vision by delivering world-class competitive developments in the local defense industry.
