I believe this is one the gates of the city back in the day. These gates don't exist anymore but many old cities had gates on roads which would function as entry and exit. There would be walls around the city limits as well.

پرانے پشاور کا خیبر بازار کابلی گیٹ سے باہر الٹے ہاتھ پر اسلامیہ کالج کہ زیر تسلط دکانوں کے بعد جب یہ دکانیں اور اوپر فلیٹ بنے تھے تو اس وقت کہ یہ تصویر پرانے پشاور کی یادوں کو تازہ کر دیتی ہے غالبا اس سے پہلے کابلی گیٹ کے باہر ٹانگوں کا اسٹینڈ بھی ہوا کرتا تھا
