No friggin way we have standing water on a flyover. In any decent country the contractor would be out of business.

No friggin way we have standing water on a flyover. In any decent country the contractor would be out of business.

Exactly , part of the problem is "Bad Engineering"
  • 2 Number wali Engineering Degree

  • There would be inquiry on the Engineering firm
  • There would be inquiry on the head engineer
  • There would be inquiry on the Architect who Architected the solution
A part from the Bridge

The flood exist , because water which needed a exist route , has no route
So it is just spreading because it can't find a 2nd exit route

Eventually a Bridge with Heavy water load may also collapse
Because bridge can't absorb weight of traffic + Tones of Water volume

We have (600 km x 150km) of Sindh Desert where the water could have been taken and released where would have formed small and mid size lakes

Cement structure exposed to water can develop cracks in foundation

Many Roads even before Floods came people complained the newly done roads , become pudding after painful and the top layer just scraps off like chocolate over cake, the usage of of 2 Numbri , material also means the infrastructure will crumble massively under water

I did not post the video as it had criticism on army head

I think focus should be on 12 seat Tanga Party failed management

IT is utterly tragic that 15 years after their approval, 11 out of 12 small and medium-sized multi-purpose dam projects across Pakistan remain incomplete despite billions of rupees having already been spent. The delay has cost the nation the capacity to store about 3.22 million acre-feet (MAF) of water annually. The combined storage of Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma reservoirs in May 2025 stood at just 3.02 MAF against a designed capacity of 13.5 MAF.

The 12 projects include Winder, Naulong, Hingol, Pelar and Garuk dams in Balochistan; Nai Gaj, Darawat and Sita-Khadeji in Sindh; Ghabir and Papin in Punjab; and Bara and Daraban Zam in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Pakistan should be diverting extra water towards Thar Desert

عمران خان کی طرح نیت درست ہو تو کچھ بھی ممکن ہے۔

These projects were never completed because , money went to buy BMW and Salary raises for PML and PPP officials

Seems like a basic engineering project

  • To develop a redirect channel for water to Thar Desert (Route 1 )
  • Secondary redirect at (Route 3) to barren desert like region west of Pir Mahal

Project 1:
150-175 KM worth of Canal , to move water to Thar (R1)
  • Divert 30%-40% flow to new route
  • Canal Channel running near Pakistan-India border can just carry extra load of water towards Sindh Desert Zoe

Project 2:
80-100 km worth of Canal to move water to (R3)
The 30-40% of flood water will help irrigate the desert region as the
space is almost 100km-200km wide and 600km in length

The water can be released in safe way in Desert improving chance to create forest in desert

There is a narrow stretch where we have a Giant Location for Artificial Lake , some water can in theory also be moved to this location with Canal Networks and saved for usage in KPK

Water released in Sindh Desert will create forest

Right now it is destroying homes and cities and villages

I am not sure who told you to create yet another "canal". A canal even large one, only carries water between 5000 to 15000 cubic square. Our river Chanab and Jehlum run at 25000 cubic square outside of the flood season. What we need here is a process to control and manage flood water, and keep that water for our use also. That means having infrastructure to quickly manage water from let's say 4 Punjab rivers with combined capacity of near million cubic square that we are witnessing currently. A canal can't even fixt 10% of the issue.

The ONLY viable structure is large lakes and by-pass channels.

Lastly, not sure who told you to send the water in Thar desert. You will do that if you want to waste water. We need to preserve this clear fresh water. Pouring water on desert sand doesn't make it into fertile mud for trees and vegetables. It remains as sand even if you pour water on it for a 100 years. But again, we need to manage floods and store this water for our use. For that, the lakes with channels is the only working options that's being used in the developed world very effectively.

Kindly avoid politics in such important discussion. If IK's "niyyat" was so pure, why did he not start these projects himself? Why pass everything onto others with blames and only keep mentioning his "niyyat" meaning physically he didn't do anything, but he had a great niyyat.

This has gotten old. The country needed work that he didn't do any. Also if he was so advanced in these things, why the flood devastation started and still is ongoing in KPK? He's ruled there since 2014, we would have seen some amazing flood control dams and lakes there, It's much easier to build in that area than in plains of Punjab and Sindh.
