These incidents are petty, meaningless and cause damage to their reputation in host nations

Lahore, isloo don’t allow afghani in the cities anymore, cuz theys a security threat. We should do the same in Karachi/ Hyderabad. It’s a great way to expel the unwanted. All the main roads/ highways into the cantonments have severe checking at roadblocks/ toll booths in Lahore and Isloo......

Whatever the gap is, with the Taliban in power and the significant brain drain this gap will only increase!

This is a big part of their frustration, they can only play spoilers despite the elevated ethnic chauvinism.

Its actually really unfortunate for them, the USA did give them a push in trying to create institutions but they didn't want it, I am talking about the more liberal and educated ones

There were two sides of the argument.

The brotherhood thing has been given a good old go, it might have given strategic depth eventually, that was the hope

Good luck achieving that whilst fighting the soviets then the wot, a reasonable survival would be a good outcome from that

Afghans will grumble they were not given swiss style living benefits in Pakistan.. Ah well, you can only do what you can do


Even what little Pakistan had, they improved their lot, even got passports out of it


But at the end of the day I believe the Afghans are the most non white ethnically chauvinist group in the world

Who can name another, they will not meaningfully put it to one side

India doesn't have this problem btw, there is no major outlier comparable to what the Afghans are, so everyone muddles along

I remember working in Lahore back in 2010 on some power projects and getting into Lahore from Muzzafargarh and there was severe checking. Punjab pols was under strict orders to ensure Afghani don't get in, no matter what. Its been like this for a while now. Even entering Karachi from super hwy you could just see our rangers check to see if you were Afghani. And there was a huge Afghani slum set up just north of the toll booth in Sohrab Goth. Afghani had no permission to go to Karachi.
