The Munir Doctrine

The exit of Afghan refugees shows that the fact has been accepted by GOP how detrimental Afghans had been to Pakistan's security and economy.

One wonders, including myself, why drone strikes against TTP are not taking place inside Afghanistan and the answer is in front of us- cleaning out own backyard.

Dismantling militant groups, not negotiating with TTP through talks, multiple arrests and taking out TTP terrorists in IBOs etc as well as giving warnings to Taliban Govt in Afghanistan. I reckon the war will be taken inside Afghanistan once the terror strikes bog down inside Pakistan and that might take another few years.

This brings out another factor - US exit from Afghanistan and leaving behind a plethora of terrorist factions including AQ, ISIS, Taliban and others. This means USA might come back some day again. Even if it doesn't, at some point USA will ask Pakistan to take certain measures based on USA's own interest.

It is the Civil Government's own shortcoming that military resources for civilian projects are being asked for. If the ministers handling different ministry's had been doing their job without incompetence and corruption, as this point in time the military would have been sidelined easily. When military resources get involved, then ISI and other military intel detachments will be a part of that.
Brilliant!

COAS usually has a section level SSG escort with him when on visits, while much more when on move apart from other stand-by assets.

@Panzerkiel
Imran Sahib k liye Cherat Mess mein room book karayo new year 2024 k liye :D
Then he will get to know what it feels to live amongst 500 SSG personnel day night :D

Can't blame China for that my friend, that problem rests with a very domestic problem. :)

If it was only Pakistan where Chinese projects failed to generate economic growth you can blame Pakistan. It is the same story everywhere with Chinese projects from Sri Lanka to Africa.

Why would anyone invest that kind of money in Gwadar when you have a huge port city like Karachi ? The literacy level is a little bit higher in Karachi compared to Gwadar

There is no Gawadar or Shawadar

No one who is sane will put money in Pakistan unless Fair Election Take place and Imran Khan is freed and political workers are allowed to stand in election

The connection between a functioning democracy and a thriving economy is undeniable. A stable democracy promotes economic growth by ensuring political stability, boosting investor confidence, and upholding the rule of law. Conversely, when democracy is unstable or replaced by authoritarian rule, it can lead to economic chaos, increase in corruption, and a decline in foreign investment. This was evident when General Mir Bajwa spearheaded a coup against the PTI government, resulting in the loss of all the progress that Imran Khan had tirelessly worked hard for during his short tenure.

The very essence of Pakistan upon its inception has been at odds with the self-serving ideologies propagated by these military dictators throughout our history. It is clear that we are not in sync with these individuals, who appear to be functioning on a completely different frequency compared to the rest of us.

Any long term reform means getting rid of elite entitlement.

The Pakistani establishment now more than ever is the biggest impediment to any meaningful reform whether its relates to the economy, governance or democracy.

Economy》

The Army's multi billion dollar conglomerate is getting prefential treatment in tax exemptions, access to land and govt. laws. The competition in sectors such as construction and telecommunication is being pushed out.

Just a small example here.

New seed policy gets rejected based on national security grounds by ISI and MI. Apparently Fauji Foundation and Army Welfare Trust have their own seed companies and any new entrant in the market with an IP to a better seed would have crashed the demand for their seed. Lets not even get to how the system is rigged to get FWO all govt. contracts.

Governance》

Pakistan's governance model is outdated. However, it works particularly in Punjab to help the Army and the intelligence agencies keep a tap on people. The bureaucracy and the police in Punjab is available at the whims of any sector commander to pick someone up and give a thrashing or just add to the list of missing people.

This same model represents a challenge to the rule of law and would prevent any future investers from ever trusting the system and setting base here.

When you need people like Rao Anwar and countless thugs of Punjab Police to do your dirty work, than they also expect your backing in their own private ventures like land grabbing.

Democracy》

Don't think anyone needs to know why.

As for the "said doctrine" by the "said individual", there is nothing to it.

He is just your average FA pass dungar who is only good at giving sound bites like SIFC, 10 trillion dollars of Granite or Riyasat Tayyiba.

Imran was also prone to give meaningless religious angles to state policies but at least he had some vision.

Billion Tree Tsunami, Sehat Card and his early attempts at establishing a local govt. system are fantastic long term reforms.

At the end of it though - when the majority of even the educated class is not interested in moving beyond change.
Millennials and Gen Z are trying their best to escape or focusing on the gig economy rather than anything else.. what you have is the element that drives change basically giving Pakistan as a state a funeral in their minds

What is left is one institution producing its own economy and culture.. and the rest of the sheep are along for the ride.

I think a good many here are forgetting that the Munir doctrine is catering for a country with a literacy rate barely above 50%. It's not meant for westernized, irreligious city-dwelling people or overseas pakistanis who think the country will become first-world-tier overnight.

FA pass 21 grade keh jahil gawar ki bhi doctrine hoti hai? only in boot worshipping Pakistan!
