Folk songs aren’t historical sources, man. Every region has folk songs and stories about “refusing to convert,” “becoming a Turk,” “heroic resistance,” whatever. Greece has tons of them ... and most were later shown to be national‑romantic inventions created during the formation of the modern Greek state in the 19th century. They’re not archival evidence, they’re cultural storytelling. So I wouldn’t trust “folk songs” as proof of anything.

And again, prove me wrong. If Greeks were supposedly a major devşirme source, then show me one famous Greek Janissary. You can’t. Same with Armenians ... name me a single famous Armenian Janissary. You can’t. The reason is simple: in the early period, recruitment was more chaotic, but as the empire became politically structured, the sultans avoided pulling from groups that already had established roles or were politically sensitive. Greeks had their own administrative, clerical, and commercial functions within the empire. Armenians had their own merchant and artisan networks. These groups weren’t the target pool.

However, Israel does not want to allow a Turkish military infrastructure that would restrict freedom of movement; according to Israeli officials, a deployment that could hinder the movement of Israeli warplanes constitutes a "red line" for the Netanyahu administration.

Israel acknowledges that it is impossible to erase the influence Turkey has particularly established in the north and is focusing its efforts on preventing the same influence from forming in the south.

Ships are damn damn expensive, and Israel is a small country with a limited tax base it can draw on. The ability of Germany to subsidize Israel is becoming problematic for Germany given the state of her economy and the need to focus on the Russia threat. So, how can Israel "respond". Even the USA has had to outsource some of its ship making to Korea. The Israeli's can try and pump the American cash cow for more cash though, there is that ability but the sums involved relative to the cost of ships won't be able to make a material difference.

Israel can try and buy cheaper ships from India also, but Indians are not going to subsidize Israel, not now, not ever. They will want hard cash upfront.

The Turkish Navy is one area, that Israel will find it difficult to complete with Türkiye, and Türkiye. Can Türkiye impose a naval blockage on Israel ? That would be interesting given the presence of Greece and the topology overall etc

Turkiye prevented Israel from establishing a terrorist state in northern Syria, as they had planned.

Syria is a long-running battleground, and while Turkiye has won for 13 years, it looks like another 13 years of struggle will follow.


Turkiye can do this if it wants to, if not today, then within 5-10 years, but ultimately it will ... Israel doesn't have military technology... for now they are relying on the 50 F-35s they received from the US, but in the near future they will no longer have that assurance with the deployment of KAAN, KIZILELMA, ANKA-3, Eurofighter and F-16 OZGUR-2 , also 4 ASOJ-23A stand off jammer Aircraft , SIPER-2 Air Defense Systems , TF-2000 Destroyers , TAYFUN B-4 and CENK hypersonic MRBMs , etc for the Turkish Armed Forces

There are between 114 and 126 Turkish Armed Forces military facilities (base areas, forward operating bases and fortified outposts) with 10.000+ Turkish troops throughout northern Syria.

That is a question for certain, but if Israel does attack Türkiye, then would Trump really want to jump into as well? It i hasn't exactly gone to plan against Iran. Would Trump want to drag himself into another one of Netanyahu's adventures?
