Trump Admin Appears to Have Deported Migrants to South Sudan, Attorneys Say

Because certain countries refuse to accept deportees from the United States, the Trump administration has pursued controversial third-country agreements to house migrants elsewhere, including arrangements with Panama. In the past, Venezuelans have been sent to a notorious prison in El Salvador under an obscure 18th-century wartime law that is still being contested in U.S. courts.

DHS Releases List Of 'Sanctuary' Jurisdictions That Could Lose Federal Funding

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on May 29 released a list of so-called sanctuary jurisdictions across the nation that could be made ineligible for federal funding under an executive order by President Donald Trump.

In their press release on the publication of the list, DHS stated: “Each jurisdiction listed will receive formal notification of its noncompliance and all potential violations of federal criminal statutes. DHS demands that these jurisdictions immediately review and revise their policies to align with federal immigration laws and renew their obligation to protect American citizens, not dangerous illegal aliens.”

In some cases, entire states have been marked sanctuaries. They include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington, as well as the District of Columbia.

Some of the jurisdictions fall in traditionally Republican states. These include Anchorage, Alaska; Atlanta and surrounding counties; Boise, Idaho; Monroe County, Indiana; Douglas County and Lawrence, Kansas; Louisville, Kentucky and four counties in the state; New Orleans; 10 counties in Nebraska; five counties in North Carolina; seven counties in North Dakota; and Nashville and one county in Tennessee.

Other states identified as having at least one county or city in violation of the law include Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

In reversal, Gavin Newsom proposes cutting back on health care benefits for undocumented immigrants

California Gov. Gavin Newsom unveiled a budget plan Wednesday that seeks to cut back on health care benefits for undocumented immigrants.

It's a stark reversal of the Democratic governor’s promises of universal health care for all, regardless of their immigration status.

In a lengthy budget presentation, Newsom said the proposal would help to balance the state's budget, which has seen a multibillion-dollar shortfall that he has blamed on President Donald Trump's tariffs, as well as growing costs from higher enrollment in the state’s Medicaid program, known as Medi-Cal.

Newsom's plan, which will need to be approved by the Democratic-led Legislature, comes as Trump’s administration has said it will investigate other aid programs California offers to undocumented immigrants.

Fact sheets on the proposal provided by Newsom’s office ahead of the presentation said that he would freeze enrollment in his 2025-26 budget for “undocumented adults” to receive the full scope of Medi-Cal. Newsom’s office said the changes would apply only to new applicants over 19 years old, that existing enrollees would not be kicked off their plans and that the freeze would not apply to people enrolled in limited plans, like ones that specifically cover emergency or pregnancy services. The freeze would begin in 2026.

The proposed changes also include a new $100 monthly premium for adults 19 and older with “unsatisfactory immigration status.” Newsom’s office said that “refers to people whose immigration status makes them ineligible for federally funded Medicaid, including people with lawful status and the undocumented.” The added premiums would begin in 2027.

The fact sheets from Newsom's office also said he needed to take “corrective action” due to a $16 billion shortfall in state revenues that it blamed on “Trump’s pendulum swings on tariffs,” as well as the ballooning costs from higher enrollment in the Medi-Cal program that Newsom's administration had expanded.

The plan also comes as congressional Republicans are advancing a bill that would slash Medicaid funding by 10 percent to states that, like California, provide health care coverage to undocumented immigrants.

"The challenge that we face this year and the challenge we will face for many years, is on growth of our Medicaid system, Medi-Cal," Newsom said Wednesday. He said his approach "was not to kick people off and not to roll back the expansion, but to level set on what we can do and what we can’t do."

Newsom also blamed the budget shortfall on Trump, saying that "California is under assault" and the "United States of America, in many respects is under assault because we have a president that’s been reckless in terms of assaulting growth engines" that have slowed the economy.

Newsom denied that his administration was "cutting or rolling back" the program, saying that, "We’re just capping it, particularly for those without documentation."

Newsom’s expansion of Medi-Cal has cost far more than his administration anticipated. Earlier this year, Newsom made consecutive loan requests to help fund rising costs that were specifically the product of increased enrollment in the offered programs by undocumented immigrants living in California.

Newsom’s office said the moves proposed in his budget would save the state an estimated $5.4 billion by the 2028-29 budget year.

The proposals mark a significant departure from Newsom’s ground-breaking plan to expand government-provided health care for all low-income adults, including immigrants living in the country illegally. Those expansions have caused costs to balloon by billions of dollars in recent years.

He acknowledged on Wednesday the role that the higher-than-expected enrollment played in his new proposal to scale back the benefits.

“Clearly we’re not in a position to continue to do as much as we wish to do and want to do,” Newsom said.

A statement printed on materials provided by Newsom’s office claimed that the changes would help his administration keep its commitment and that the governor “remains committed to protecting” immigrant communities.

Newsom, widely viewed as a potential contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, has tacked to the right on a series of notable policy issues in recent months.

Earlier this week, Newsom called on California cities to adopt policies that would clear their streets of homeless encampments “without delay.”

And during a podcast interview with conservative commentator and Trump ally Charlie Kirk, Newsom infuriated some allies in the LGBTQ community when he said he opposes trans athletes competing in women’s and girls’ sports.
People are most generous when spending somebody else's money.

What about the citizens whose lives have been upended because of this invasion by illegal aliens?

In this case, I couldn't be happier. Not just one, but an entire family!

This was the raid that upset Gov. Healey. Said she wasn't informed of it prior to. Of course not. Why compromise OpSec by letting her know in advance? You know damn well it would have leaked.

Update 9:20pm: According to Fox news reporter Bill Melugin, three DHS sources said that the Boulder terror suspect is an Egyptian national in the U.S. illegally as a visa overstay who entered the U.S. during the Biden administration.

According to the report, Mohamed Sabry Soliman arrived at LAX on 8/27/22 on a B1/B2 nonimmigrant visa with an authorized stay through 2/26/23, but he overstayed & never left.

Then, on 9/29/22, he filed some sort of claim with USCIS, potentially an asylum claim, and on 3/29/23, USCIS under the Biden admin gave him work authorization, which expired on 3/28/25.

Going to be awhile now before he's deported.

1 Million people crossed legally and 530K overstayed that is quite a large number of people.

One can only imagine the "ones who crossed illegally"

However may be it is just the movie culture which may have wrongly spread the notion , USA grants you citizenship upon landing for all Immigrants, I know I assumed it was true looking at the movies

The movies show immigrants coming in from Europe and then the get free land , and offer of citizenship if they pay taxes , it is part of Hollywood movies which showcase role of immigrants into what became USA

I was recently watching some movies on USA internal areas , seems like small of towns in Central USA are becoming "Unpopulated" as no one wants to live there leaving behind "Ghost Towns"
  • Towns with roads
  • Towns with homes , boarded closed
  • Towns with libraries just locked
  • Towns with police station also closed
  • Population 1-2 Inhabitants

To me these towns look like nice safe area for small population to live in
very safe !! If you of course have some businesses open

Does it not makes sense to re-populate the Ghost Towns and just collect tax from working Immigrants ?

Tax paying immigrant is better then Ghost town?

Trump's whole plan for Gaza Resort might have been better accepted
if he offered to move all Gaza Citizen to USA to one of USA's internal towns which have all the infrastructure just no people ?
  • Population of Gaza is 1 Million or so I think if they had a choice to move to USA perhaps alot of chaos would have been avoidable

Note:
Folks visiting any country not just USA , must always follow the date time frame for Visa or Limit on Visa it is quite standard practice

I know this area. Have a facility located there:

The illegal alien family that gets arrested together will hopefully be deported together.

As for Councilwoman Karen, she is lucky the ICE agents didn't dump her ass face down on the ground and cuff her as well for interference.
