You need to give something to get something. What is Iran going to offer the United States in return for a relief from sanctions? And once we give it up, what guarantee is there that the US won't reimpose those sanctions later?
Iran's nuclear program is no longer a threat to the US interests or Israel. Iran's proxies have been weakened and have shown zero interest in joining Iran's so-called resistance against the US.
The only thing that the US is interested in is our ballistic missiles. And they are sure that they will be able to get that one way or another. And we both know the dilemma:
1. If we give up our ballistic missiles, we will be defenseless against them. So, it is full capitulation in a sense. If we give up our ballistic missiles, we should also join Abraham Accords and normalize our relations with Israel and accept to play a predictable, dictated role in the region.
2. If we do not give up our ballistic missiles, they will defang us step by step through cycles of war and economic pressure until Iran either surrenders unconditionally (as Trump tweeted in June), or the regime falls.
Anybody who thinks we can reach a balanced, non-maximalist deal with the US at this stage is fooling himself to believe Trump's fake negotiations are real. There is no negotiation. Trump has certain demands that either will be met fully or we will have a new round of war.
