'Be prepared for unexpected': Rajnath Singh tells Armed forces 'keep eye on happenings in neighbouring countries' (Bangladesh)

No it could not have - that was the whole legitimacy of the invasion that allowed support. This was 1971 not 1871.
Okay agreed but then this should be enough to convince some posters here who think India wants to expand by annexing Bangladesh or capturing some of its part.... if it was not possible in 1971 then this is 2024....

you are on your way to IMF and World Bank which will refuse your loan and the chinese will step in. you will be happy till the Chinese loans are to be repaid.

a lot will happen till millions of bangladeshis are on their way to become gazis.

will you come on chinese tanks or horses like an islamic army ?

Your Armed forces have not seen any war

Do you even have enough land to impart Training and practice the Manuevrs of Artillery and Armoured Corps

Has your Airforce practiced with Live Bombs

Talking of War is easy

I have stated a fact nothing else. Millions of people which includes some Hindus will join to defend our country.

And btw except for the 1971 war, in all the other wars, you either lost or it was indecisive. You can celebrate Bangladesh's war independence due to us.

We are expecting some Large scale attack on our border outposts aided by BGB and killing of BSF soldiers as it happened sometime in 2001

But this time our Retaliation will be Direct and massive

Last time we retaliated through Covert operations like Mutiny in BDR
That type of attack by Bangladesh army in 2001 would surely invite a massive retaliation this time as the government is under Modi.... it was vajpayee government which was quite soft and tolerant.... however Indian retaliation would be limited only on the border trying to just take a revenge.... not more....

It's just my hunch. India might be up to something.

Given the global power balance on the knife edge (Russia-Ukraine war and Zionists war-criminals fighting for their survival), Indians might be seeing an opportunity to pursue their expansionist policy in the ensuing global chaos and disorder.
Are you out of your mind, the last thing we want is to occupy Bangladesh and illegal Bangladeshis in India.
Okay agreed but then this should be enough to convince some posters here who think India wants to expand by annexing Bangladesh or capturing some of its part.... if it was not possible in 1971 then this is 2024....
It's not because it's impossible, tell me who in India in their wildest dreams want to occupy BD.

so horses like a bangladeshi mujahiddin army, not Chinese tanks ? will the bangladeshi hindus also get the gazi tag ?

so, say it. you won the 1971 war, India did nothing. don't you worry, my little bangladeshi friend, about how many wars India has won. no one really cares.

on a serious note, the bad days of Bangladesh as a country have begun. did you read the IMF, World Bank, Chinese loan part ? In a few years...give it time.

India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has ordered the armed forces of the country to monitor the situation in Bangladesh. Simultaneously asked to be ready to face any unexpected situation.

Our Defence Force heads should evaluate, when they can prepare for war footing after supporting the civil administration. The newly appointed Defense Advisor must assess the overall situation and provide necessary advice to tackle enemy threats. France's concept of 'Levi en Mas' is an effective way for revolutionary public defense.

Former Bangladesh Army Chief

Why does India have so many problems with most of its neighbors?

Why does India have so many problems with most of its neighbors?

There are multiple reasons.
1) Because we don't want illegals crossing the border.

2) we don't want terrorists entering our border.

These two examples for the countries from our east and west. The reason varies from country to country.

So now a country 10-20x smaller than theirs became a threat to their security without nukes 😂

At the Joint Commanders’ Conference, Defence Minister Rajnat
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted India's need to be
prepared for war to maintain peace. He emphasized joint
joint military vision, modern warfare equipment, and
technological advancements in data and AI. Singh also called
for analyzing global conflicts and regional instability to
anticipate future challenges.

I think he was referring to the Bangladeshi students !!

Why does India have so many problems with most of its neighbors?
One reason could be because lately leaving India, most of the south asia has seen a major political instability. Defacto Coup in Pakistan and economic issue there after, violent Revolution in Banladesh and political instability, Revolution in Sri Lanka, military rule in Burma.

India has been facing localized violence as well. Manipur comes to mind. But still most of the country is doing relatively decently.

This is getting traction in Bangladesh as well.

Former BD Army Chief posted the following in his social media account. He is suggesting mass national conscription as a response option to prepare for any misadventure from India. General Iqbal Karim was known to be very vocal despite serving as COAS during Hasina reign and was openly critical of BAL loyalists in the army. Recently, during the student revolution, he openly joined hands with students.

My guess is that most likely he is going to run for office through BNP or another party.
