China float the idea of joint security force to secure CPEC projects

This was bound to happen one day. China won't compromise on its economic and strategic interests around the region. Gwadar is a backdoor/alternate route for China in case things on its Pacific side or South China Sea go bad. Also China must be a bit frustrated at the on going instability and insurgency in Balochistan and KPK which are part of the CPEC routes (that frustration might not be limited towards Pak govt. but the armed forces as well and many time Chinese authorities to "Do more").

I won't be surprised if China is already providing intelligence support to Pakistan armed forces and maybe in future Chinese warships will be stationed in Gwadar port.

Michael , you should be careful about what you post here ......I don't know about your source of information but the Pakistanis on PDF believe what you say is a gospel truth
What happened? I don't know anything................

On the possible direction of co-operation between China and Pakistan on CPEC security issues:
1, Intelligence support.
2.Weapons support.
3. Personnel training.
So, in the future, PLA may send personnel to Pakistani military bases. But PLA will never directly send troops to participate in any counter-terrorism operations inside Pakistan. The situation you fear will never arise!

As for whether a PLA naval base will be established in Gwadar port, it depends on both Chinese and Pakistani governments. The main purpose of this naval base, is to provide support for PLA's military activities in the Indian Ocean and the Middle East; as well as to help defend Pakistan's maritime security. It will not be directly involved in Pakistan's internal counter-terrorism operations.

There is actually a better way to go about CPEC security - Chinese security companies. However, Chinese security companies are currently severely restricted by Chinese law and need to be implemented only after the law is amended.
Currently, a large number of Chinese companies investing overseas have security problems. Several large Chinese security companies are jointly requesting the National People's Congress to change the law. But this will take time.
Good to know sense and perspective of the greater picture will prevail.

The framework of the naval cooperation though should be coached in the language of the 4 “foundational agreements” the US and India signed, especially the logistical support agreement.

But this will draw attention, and require more Chinese support in economic and military means to weather the impact.

Pakistan Army and ISI is busy in dealing with Imran Khan and PTI then dealing Indian terrorism in Pakistan. US is keeping ISI busy with Imran Khan while the Indian commit terrorism in Pakistan. The Taliban regime who were darling of Pakistan Army are also sending terrorists in Pakistan. Looks like there will be more Indian terrorism in Pakistan targeting Chinese while Pakistanis Generals plan for their Pizza franchises in US after their retirement.

The issue of the security of China's overseas interests has been discussed domestically in recent years. This is a very serious problem for China at present. It is not only happening in CPEC, but also in Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and many other places.
China's current legal restrictions: China has the strictest gun ban in the world. The legal use of firearms by ordinary Chinese citizens in other countries is considered to be a violation of Chinese law as well (lesser violations are exempted from legal accountability). This law severely restricts the ability of Chinese security companies to use force when providing security services to Chinese companies overseas. Most of these companies currently employ foreign security personnel to use force, with Chinese security personnel providing training, command and other low-force work to prevent these Chinese security personnel from being held legally accountable upon their return to China.
If Chinese law were to liberalise these restrictions, it would create a lot of very serious new problems. The National People's Congress is currently studying this legal issue. But it will take some time.

For Chinese embassies abroad, security is provided by PAP(The Chinese People’s Armed Police Force), who legally carry firearms. But, Chinese business assets in other countries cannot receive security services from PAP.

Has the PLA operated in other countries to protect Chinese investments ?

I don't know the authenticity of this news (China proposes joint security forces between China and Pakistan). There is nothing about this news in the Chinese media.

If this is true news, I think it is just a means for China to put pressure on Pakistan.

Any terrorism that persists for a long time is bound to have deep internal connections.
Although the terrorists in Pakistan have the support of foreign forces, the core of the problem lies in the fact that there are powerful forces in the Pakistani government and military that support these terrorists. This support is divided into active and passive support. I am aware of the controversial nature of this argument and understanding it requires some political wisdom.

If Pakistan needs more support from China, it must first address the issue of these terrorist organisations targeting China.

Terrorist activities against China in Pakistan at present do not require China's direct intervention. But if things develop to a point where China's direct involvement is required, the consequences will be very serious. Please refer to China's handling of telecom fraud in northern Myanmar.

I have already replied to this question of yours in #35.
Currently, PLA only participates in overseas evacuation operations, UN-authorised military operations, and joint military exercises.PLA and PAP does not participate in overseas asset security operations of Chinese enterprises.
