Egypt bought 12 J-10C aircraft last year according to Egyptian modifications requested at a total price of $780 million, and this will include another subsequent deal of 27-58 additional aircraft
PRICE TAG 65 USD MILLION FOR J-10

Egypt is negotiating 40-50 J-20A aircraft, as China, which had objected to the export of the Y-20 and J-20 aircraft, showed flexibility to export after the number of Y-20 aircraft in service with the Chinese Air Force exceeded 60 aircraft, as well as the production rate of the J-20 aircraft reaching between 100-120 aircraft annually, which made China consider requests from Egypt, Algeria, the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, which are the countries interested in the aircraft, by privatizing part of the production for export, which will provide more funding for the Chinese sixth-generation fighters

Egypt is interested in Chinese fighters that will be sold in yuan, which makes Egypt reduce its military imports from Europe and America, where Egypt has a shortage of euros and US dollars

China Open to exporting fighters to Egypt as well as establishing an industrial city in western Egypt for export to Europe instead of maritime transport, which faces obstacles and high costs with the conflicting wages of Egyptian workers, which have become less than Chinese ones. In addition to China obtaining strategic advantages in Egypt from priorities in the field of investment and import from China instead of competing countries.
20240814_05330733.jpg

Production contracts for aircraft are not always concluded until after initial purchase contracts for ready-made aircraft from the original manufacturer, so it is believed that these contracts are a prelude to the expected large contract for the FC-31 aircraft. One indicator of the inevitability of Egyptian contracts is the Israeli contracts for 50 F-15IA aircraft to replace the old F-15C/D aircraft and an additional third batch of F-35 fighters in two contracts with a total value of $24 billion. Therefore, Egypt’s contracting for alternative deals with China, Russia and South Korea is inevitable to compensate for the imbalance in the balance of arms in the Middle East.

I dont think China would sell J-20 now.
But Y-20 and J-31 is more likely for export. J-20 may only be exported after China have 6th gen aircraft in service.

Regardless, IF Egypt, KSA and UAE still manage to land a deal for J-20 export, it would send shockwaves in Europe and United States. It would also mean China is confident in its development of 6th gen aircraft.

1724009381820.png

We have a rich army and a poor people. It has huge dollar resources and controls 52% of the economy. A deal of $5-6 billion to buy 40-50 J-20 fighters is not a big number. Besides, there are arrangements with China. Chinese aircraft are still less expensive than RAFALE fighters, so they are more economically feasible. An Israeli military analyst stated that since 2010 until now, Samar has purchased weapons worth $140 billion over 15 years. The Israelis previously stated that Egypt bought weapons worth $70 billion from 2013-2021, between imported weapons and local manufacturing. In addition, Egypt last April obtained $35 billion from the Ras Al-Hikma project, as well as European investment contracts more than a month ago worth $42 billion and a financing package of another $8 billion from Europe. China is planning huge investments in western Egypt, industrially, to provide an export volume for Chinese products manufactured in Samar worth $11 billion, in addition to the economic logic of the Suez Canal.

We see news of China exporting the J-20 fighter since China offered to export it to the Emirates instead of the Emirati F-35 until Algeria negotiated 18-28 J-20 aircraft as well two years ago. There is a difference between buying fighters in large numbers as a main aircraft and a heavy aircraft such as the J-20. China will originally control the arms stocks of countries that have the ability to buy fifth-generation fighters, while Europe is losing the fighter market in the future because it simply does not have a competitor. The United States has its restrictions. The most important thing for it is Israel and countries have begun to ignore America and search for an alternative and do not care about pressure. America, when it provides 75 fighters in two deals for Israel in one year, to change the balance of power, is very natural. Countries are looking for their national security without caring about any American or European objections. Simply put, America caused economic crises for all countries of the world through the Russian-Ukrainian war and only cared about its interests, which makes everyone search for reconciliation and America and its interests and interests go to hell. Egypt is a member of BRICS for economic interests. Better than what the West offers, and of course it also includes weapons systems to support national security.

1. J20 is not for sale. Let me believe that China will sell J20 to Egypt, which is more credible and useful than selling DF17. That thing poses a greater and more direct threat to Egypt's enemies. China has a tradition of selling ballistic missiles. After China makes some adjustments to DF17, it can be exported.

2. China's current fighter production lines are all pulsating production lines. This kind of production line, Egypt cannot afford it. It is feasible for Egypt to buy a certain number of J31 from SAC, forget about the production line.

3. Reminder: The fifth-generation fighter is not as simple as buying an aircraft directly, if you are equipped with a fifth-generation fighter, it means that your existing military data link and command system must be upgraded. This cost exceeds the cost of the acquisition of fighters. Unless you don't want full control of your own procured fifth-generation fighters.

That history about a supposed chinse jet purchase remind me the same history about a Su-35 purchase..... as for now no Su-35 jet in the egyptian sky.

My opinin is that It is only for bargaining with US and or french.

Such a blow to USA will ask a harsh answer to UAE. An answer not acceptable by UAE.
So no way. Once again, it is only a bargain exercise to force USA to sell them F35.

Indeed. Affordable, but not war proven.
How really potent are the chinese weapons ? Do you really want to go to war with a non proven gun ?

What "war" is a western jet proven in?

"Fighting" 3rd world countries does not count.

There are many ways to test weapons. We cannot doubt the capability of a weapon just because it hasn't been tested in combat. The Russian Tsar Bomba also hasn’t been tested in combat; does that mean we should doubt its power?

As for China’s military aircraft, the U.S. military has the most say. PLA’s various military aircraft and the U.S. military’s various aircraft frequently engage in different kinds of contests over the East China Sea and the South China Sea. All combat skills of military aircraft, except for firing, have been tested (chasing, dogfighting, stealth and counter-stealth, electronic jamming, heat flares, laser targeting, etc.). You can look up interviews with frontline U.S. military officers about these situations (ignore those office-bound fat cats; they are only serving political purposes and defense budgets).

The most important point is the people using these weapons. The same weapon can have completely different effects in different countries’ armed forces (many countries around the world are equipped with the same Rafale fighter jets; can you say they have the same combat power?).

A country in the Middle East, equipped with many very advanced weapons, however, they were defeated by the low-level weapons of the guerrillas. Can you say no to the weapons he purchased?

We cannot deny the weapon itself because of this.

Egypt is striving hard to have something of its own in the air, but facing financial strangulation from the West .
It's not facing financial strangulation from the west, it's facing corruption and incompetence from within. When Sisi first came to power through Gulf backing, I openly said this would happen, and I got told that I was delusional.

Sisi and his administration are a bunch of incompetent buffoons.

Elite capture is pervasive in Egypt, similar to Pakistan, and when mixed with nepotism, the situation becomes corrosive acid.

J-10C_25.jpg

All of this does not concern me for a simple reason that you ignore first, that military deals between Egypt and China and even Russia are deals that are not announced except with the approval of both parties and an arrangement between the two parties. The matter there is not important that the announcement be the opposite, but Egypt in many deals does not want to announce them until after they have been in service for years. The simplest example is the Egyptian air defense deals with Russia in the years 2006, which were not officially announced until 2011. Even the series of Egyptian-Russian deals from 2013-2021, only half of them were actually announced, but the first deal for each weapon and the following deals were not announced. The same thing in the air defense deals between Egypt and China. It is not announced that there are Chinese batteries for air defense in Egypt, but simply what is announced in the media is that Egypt is interested in systems such as the HQ17, AE and HQ-18, which have already been in service for a while. So the announcement is also through both parties. The same thing with the drone package between Egypt and China. China does not announce 90% of it because the announcement is in agreement in timing and even size. Is there any? Announcement of a series of contracts for various missiles, starting from rocket artillery to ballistic missiles. Does the Chinese Ministry of Defense want to announce the China deal? Many of its deals are photographed for equipment in different countries. So, if you want to announce in countries that follow the advanced concept of not disclosing deals, China differs from France, Western Europe and America in that there is a parliament that requires discussing arms deals, and this does not exist in China.

The denial by some that Egypt will not buy Chinese fighters, whether FC-31 or even J-20, is based on the logic that China did not allow exports. Didn't China export DF-3 missiles to China in 1988, which are missiles that are prohibited from being exported, whether in the East or the West?

1723795058732.jpeg
China obtained huge sums of money from weapons that are prohibited from being exported.

In the seventies, Egypt obtained the largest aircraft in China, the HQ-6 bomber. At that time, it was a strategic bomber. The Chinese F-8 aircraft was the best that China had in the eighties and nineties, and Egypt tried it and rejected it.

News related to exporting fighters J-20 All say that China began allowing its export since 2023 and offered it to the Emirates, so why do we want to repeat previously existing news that I explained to you in advance? You are not the decision maker and you are also the one who determines the export policy.
Years ago, it was published on the Internet that
China offered the FC-31 aircraft project to Turkey for $2 billion, and even Turkey for $1 billion before 2019, and the Turks preferred a local national project TFX, so your objection ignores such information that was previously published.
And I explained in advance that there are alternatives to the Chinese aircraft. For example, South Korea developed a national engine with a thrust of 25,000 pounds for its fighters to be outside the framework of any American pressure or control, in itself increasing the flexibility of the global market offered for fighters.
That is, we simply return to an important point. The information has been cumulative for years, starting from 2022.
The actual implementation of some deals between Egypt and China in 2023 was through a currency exchange deal between Egypt and China worth $2.5 billion, of which Egypt has allocated $1 billion to buy Chinese weapons, including a deal for 12 J-10 aircraft.
The visit of the Egyptian Air Force Commander to China is not just a friendly visit, but the delegation with him came to finalize specific agreements to be ready for signing after they are completed.
In any case, I do not benefit from any military deal. I am not an arms dealer or part of the arms sales mafia inside Egypt, so I would be interested in implementation. We have presented information and publish what is available. You have the right to refuse and you have the right to object, but you do not have the right to monopolize what you think is the only truth or to be the arbiter between the validity or invalidity of the published news. China is participating in the Egyptian Air Show with more than 7 companies. Are these companies coming just to display, or are there any contracts and projects between the two parties? No one has participated in an exhibition unless there is a desired benefit or some weapons that were previously purchased, as China displayed to negative radars at the EDEX-23 exhibition, which is in service in Egypt. Before 2013, and before Algeria and Saudi Arabia thought of buying it, 7 years ago, for example.
