Gaza-Israel Conflict | 2023-2024

Of course. Without the supply of American weaponry and diplomatic support Israel would be behaving differently. The American Zionist Christians are essentially the main sponsors of Israeli Zionists.

Tactics is something, and the fighting on the ground is different, looking at all the videos, our mujahideen freedom fighters are going around blowing up the tanks and they are afraid to get out and fight.

I mean 62 days of fighting and they can't take a strip of land.

True. Israel has been exposed badly. It cannot fight a guerrilla war. The Israelis are hiding casualties for a reason.

They are an obstacle to peace in the middle east unfortunately. Dare I say it, the Chinese IMO are better mediators, however currently they are not assertive on the international stage.

The Arabs don't care. They are too busy enjoying life. The problem is, everyone is watching.

Welcome bro

How about also looking at fellow Arab nations sitting at the sidelines keeping remarkably quiet whilst their cousins house burns?
Their silence is really heard loudly. Only perhaps interested in their own self existence. That gives the Israeli regime the wind to create havoc

Thanks.

Absolutely. I am very critical of fellow Arabs. I have discussed this to death. GCC Arabs hold the key. Unfortunately, they are too intoxicated.

This is the topmost news on NY Times right now. I don't know if the news is to apply subtle pressure on Netanyahu or not. American goals don't fully align with Israel's and also certainly Netanyahu has personal stakes in this war.

During the first six weeks of the war in Gaza, Israel routinely used one of its biggest and most destructive bombs in areas it designated safe for civilians, according to an analysis of visual evidence by The New York Times.

The video investigation focuses on the use of 2,000-pound bombs in an area of southern Gaza where Israel had ordered civilians to move for safety. While bombs of that size are used by several Western militaries, munitions experts say they are almost never dropped by U.S. forces in densely populated areas anymore.

The Times programmed an artificial intelligence tool to scan satellite imagery of south Gaza for bomb craters. Times reporters manually reviewed the search results, looking for craters measuring roughly 40 feet across or larger. Munitions experts say typically only 2,000-pound bombs form craters of that size in Gaza’s light, sandy soil.

Golani brigade decimated by Hamas: Israel's losses worsen

The deadliest day was Tuesday, December 12, when the Golani Brigade, an infantry unit, was ambushed by Palestinian factions in the Al Shujja'ia neighborhood in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army announced the death of 8 soldiers from this company at dawn, then two others during the day. But the toll appears to be heavier, according to Israeli sources.

A former leader of this same brigade reported real carnage in his ranks. According to Major General Moshe Kaplinsky, former commander of the Golani Brigade, which notably participated in the Lebanese War in 1982, this unit has lost a quarter of its personnel between dead and wounded since October 7, The former officer, quoted by Al Jazeera this Sunday, December 17, puts forward the figure of 82 officers and soldiers of the brigade killed in the fighting.

Israel’s Vietnam….

Saudi economy is not diversified and very fragile. I remember reading some article how fluctuations in the oil price wreaked havoc on the Saudi economy. This is not the 1970s and they are in no position to use oil as a weapon.

This still does not excuse the fact that they don't allow pro-Palestine protests in the Kingdom and other GCC states.

An Israeli blog about a possible path to end this conflict and a peace process (if you can read this without crashing your browser!!). But even these little concessions are bashed upon in the Comments to the blog.
Some points are: No permanent expulsions of Gazans. Hamas can't be defeated because it is an ideology with deep roots in Gaza. So a 'demilitarized' Gaza first under UN Peace Keepers with NATO/Arab forces. Then a 'path' to a future Palestinian 'demilitarized' State based on Olmert's 2009 initiative but that conversation should also include Saudi 'normalization' with Israel. Hamas senior leadership in Gaza allowed safe passage out.

Reading the blog, I get an impression that Israel can't totally subjugate Gaza and so is willing to find some common ground for peace and I think that's because of the cost of the war to Israel, the growing rift with the Biden administration, and the displacements of Israelis in the north/south (along with significant exodus of Israelis to other countries).

Anyway, the blog sounds like that of a fatigued, if not a defeated, mind. Where are the Israeli apologists on this thread (and in the old PDF) which thought the Gazans attack on 7 October was futile??

True. The Saudis are busy diversifying their economy, but they started very late. They are trying to promote tourism etc. It remains to be seen if this is going to be a success. Oil and gas isn't going anywhere. As long as it is around it will be used. The infrastructure is in place and it is easy to extract. The industry uses oil/gas. The revenues won't be the same.

The Saudis are going to pay the price. If they think that they can get away by turning a blind eye they are mistaken.
