HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

F-35 and F-22 Raptors are currently the only fighter jets that are stealthy enough to be classified as true fifth-generation fighters. Indian Air Force would not have rejected Su-57 and pursued the AMCA project if Su-57 were genuinely a fifth-generation aircraft. Although China makes bold claims about the capabilities of its fighter jets, these claims are not taken seriously by the Indian Air Force, Taiwanese Air Force, Philippine Air Force, or Japanese Air Force. As for the KAAN fighter jet, we will only be able to assess its significance once it enters service.
Indian Air Force can only purchase fighter jets that are available for sale, like Tejas and Rafale and Only those jets that are available for sale matter—not those that are still under development.

Indian Fanboy post of wishful thinking above.

Reality below

The Indian air force in conjunction with allies be it USA or France or indeed Russia will know the strengths and weaknesses of the Chinese stealth fighters

The are low observable fighters not stealth with better

Chinese radars Ew suites and networking is not yet upto western standards and decades behind the USA ..

Mass produce cheap imitation is Chinese doctrine ...

Rafale F5 is brilliant stop gap options u told Amca comes on board

India needs to go thru the pain on road to self sufficient military capability by 2040

180 Tejas by 2032
120 mark 2 Tejas between 2030/2035
40 Amca mark 1 between 2035*2040
80/100 Amca post 2040

Stop gap
84/160 super mki by 2035/2040
120/150 Rafale F3//4/5 with drones unmanned versions

This is good solid road map.
Back plan if Amca fails
Tempest more likely french Future combat system sixth generation platform
Avoid USA fighters for now see how the engines work out and drones first

The one thing that India has now and even more in the future is options due tons massive gdp
The world's biggest and best arms companies want this market
Indian defense budget will.exceed 100 billion dollars a year in 2028/2029 and 200 billion dollars0 a year by 2035*20240...
What ever our adversaries do India has option s plenty but indengious programme must not stop ever

Indian Air Force has previously claimed that J-20 was detected by PESA radar of Su-30MKI, indicating that it is not stealthy at all. There seems to be a reason why Indian Air Force has never considered J-20 a threat, despite repeated assertions by Chinese media that J-20 is superior to F-22 and F-35. I have also seen Indian Air Force veterans laughing at these claims from Chinese media about their jets.

There is a reason the US is concerned about China's development and growth, and is actively working to counter it. It's good and blessing for Pakistan that Indians live in a delusional world.

I am expecting a combat range of 800 kilometers for the Tejas MK1A after its major upgrades, including weight reduction and increased fuel-carrying capacity. It's worth noting that F-16 has a combat range of only 550 kilometers. Additionally, I've read that the 97 additional Tejas MK1B aircraft will come with a retractable refueling probe and an improved cockpit featuring a large single touchscreen multifunctional display, which is currently under development. an additional hardpoint has also been added to Tejas MK1A.
If a Mk1B ever materialises, these would be the upgrades I'd like to see
1. Large single multifunction touchscreen display (similar to AMCA)
2. More powerful Mission Computer optimised for man machine Teaming
3. A conformal fuel tank (not sure just how feasible it would be)
4. An IRST sensor (beneath the portside air intake) similar to AN/AAS-42 of F-15
5. Dual Rack Launcher for BVRAAM (Astra Mk-1 & 2)

Almost All of these upgrades can be directly ported from the Tejas Mk 2 program without much problem

Tejas is just a Mig-21 replacement and not a long term project, IAF is more keen on having Tejas Mk.2 as it will provide the firepower they are desiring and might include your desired list.

why not adding a Warp drive propulsion for interstellar flights, a Klingon-disruptor and surely a Romulan cloaking device, so in the end this Mk.1B will make any 6th or even 7th generation fighter useless and India will still have an edge over any potential adversary!

Come on ... now they are delaying the Mk.1A, additional ones are cancelled as it seems, Mk.2 is still years away and you still make wet-dreams?

Save those for your chinese wet dreams. None of these Improvements are impossible.

Why waste Time , energy , resources on certification

MK 2 will have more space anyway

We can use some MK 2 upgrades , as you have written , on the Su 30 MKI upgrade as and when they are ready

Tejas MK1/MK1A programme is almost dead now. We have all seen this film before played out with the Arjun tank saga. Indian Army were due to procure many hundreds, then let it quietly die a death and kept two regiments for show/ego.

Same will happen with Tejas. Two squadrons with semicapable aircraft will be ket alive soo as to not lose face.

Expect all talk now to focus on MK2 and AMACA as the next knight in shining armour for IAF.

RIP Tejas MK1/MK1A

Surely they are not impossible but the question is when? In 2037? :ROFLMAO:

And please show me an announced "Chinese wet-dream" esp. a fighter project in recent years that was bombastically heralded all the years like you and your homies constantly do with the Tejas and finally failed!? 🤡
