Indiginezation of 70% components already began 6 years before itself, what this article is saying that remaining 20-30% are being indigenized too.Literally the article is stating the IAF has not even begun the indigenisation process, basically you do not want to actually believe your own eyes or the words of the IAF. 2008 USAF figures also show T-38 had serviceability of 64.8%.
Again, comapring 70 year old T-38s with 18 year old Hawks. Basically admitting USAF does a far better job in maintenence then the IAF?
And soon - we will be discussing how the Rafales in the IAF will have similar servicing levels as the Hawk.

India pushed its aging MiG-21 Bison airframes pretty much to the limit, even after 40 years of service.Would not surprise me if Rafale servicability is low, they have been using them on Chinese border too. Do you know if they got the private contract for Dassault to guarantee service levels?
My guess is if they have 28 odd left and with say 75% availability they may have just 18-20 ready to fly

Your JF-17s, iirc, were doing around 120 flight hours a year? That’s still lower than the MiG-21 Bisons. And you’d be lucky if the Mirage III/V fleet was doing 80 hours a year at most. Almost a quarter of those Mirages were bought second-hand from the West and the Middle East between the 1980s and 2000s, and not all of them were acquired just for spares. We even use MiG-21 trainers for LIFT training on other fighter types.
The PAF doesn’t officially publish annual flight-hour figures or comprehensive crash data either, so we don’t really know how badly the JF-17 fleet has been affected by the Russia-Ukraine war and the resulting engine supply issues. Pakistan also never built a proper local supply chain for most of the aircraft.
And that whole “PAF has fewer crashes” argument pushed by PAF fanboys was pretty badly undermined by that BRF article, which put India’s attrition rate at 0.02 compared with 0.4 per lakh flying hours for the PAF during the 2000s.
Then there’s the HADR numbers. During one of the worst floods in Sindh, the PAF reportedly flew barely 150 HADR sorties in a month, while the IAF flew more than that in less than a week during HADR operations.
And then you have the JF-17 situation in Myanmar, where there have been reports of the aircraft being grounded.
