We are peaceful, and the west has a thing called freedom of religion, so we actually don't have to assimilate that much other than learn the language which is essential.

NHS benefits for new migrants revoked. Dole impossible to get. Bringing over family members from overseas rescinded unless yous making a min 38k per year. Its a complex case because many south asian migrants who showed up in the 90s or early 2000s landed when housing and living was cheap in Canada along with hefty perks from both the provincial and federal govt.

These families (back then it was just families, not students) ended up saving and living frugal lifestyles while racking up on property. White people in canada don't save - white people in Canada would rather take a payday loan or a credit line for a cruise to Mexico lol (@Yommie i bet you can vouch for this).

Come the late 2010s and COVID timing. Now instead of families we have a massive influx of younger individual indians coming in. Housing has already been taken over by south asians...and now these younger students are taking up jobs.

This is an oversimplification of what happened but it is a quick rundown of how things panned out. It ended up resulting in white canadians rearing their frustration down on south asian migrants for taking up so much over the course of the past 20 years based on a generalized view of how things panned.

Not just cheap labor - but walking talking taxpayers who will spend the next 4 to 5 decades giving their hard earned tax revenue to the state.

Canada is basically preparing for the big bust that will happen once Gen X'ers retire en masse in the next few decades. To pay for pension they need taxpayers.
