Cheap paint with Mesbah-1 and Majid

Put it behind or on the top with 4x4 config and there is the Pantsir on steroids

Mesbah-1 is for export purposes but wasn't that successful because of lacking SHORAD missile. But still a very capable system.

MESBAH 1- Air Defence System

This 8-barrel system is an integration of “chassis and electric system” and a number of “4 pieces of twin-barrel 23mm guns” that is equipped with “one 3D seeker radar”, ”one smart fire control unit” and “one set of power supply” for supplying the required energy. This system utilizing advanced photography sensors and processing the acquired data is able to identify all air targets up to the height of 20 km regardless of being day or night, and then by conducting complicated calculations, predicts the target’s trajectory and shoots towards that target in the end by estimation of its next position. By connecting to Fire Control Unit (FCU), electro-optic and Sky Guard while having high agility and an acceptable fire volume, this has increased the accuracy of the system in firing through reduction of shots diffusion.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

It just lacks what you said. It has the required space for something like majid.

This is perfect for drones and normal RCS cruise missiles.

If Ukraine had hundreds of these systems, then Shahed would struggle. Plus the cost to benefit analysis works much better than expensive Missile components.

Remember even Israeli Iron Dome cost $150K per interceptor and that is one of the “cheapest” western air defense systems.

Most likely, this anti-aircraft gun is integrated with the Skyguard LMS, since otherwise there is no point in it, due to the low probability of hitting a rapidly moving target when manually installing sights.

The Thales Rapid Fire Air Defence system combines the CONTROLMaster 60 surveillance radar with the CONTROLView command and control module and the latest generation 40mm cased telescope ammunition ensure both precision attack and high firepower. The long-forgotten 57 mm caliber guns are being given a new lease on life in the Russian armed forces with a new such cannon raising admiring eyebrows everywhere. CRI "Petrel" developed in the interest of the military defense self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery system caliber 57 millimeters, surpassing the leading foreign counterparts. With a rate of fire of 300 rounds per minute and a horizontal range of 16 kilometers this gun is an ideal weapon against all types of aircraft and armored vehicles, including tanks.

Not really, it consume ammo as whale planktons and mobility is bad.
Better solution is one barrel weapon on some ifv platform.

It looks like a Nazi Germany anti aircraft gun

Those are good against A-10, AC-130, Helicopters but i didn't saw other armies still using one bullet SPAAG like that

How is it operated?
this one practically is , if connected to a radar, it use frag ammo and very dangerous to anything fly below 10km if you have enough of them to make a wall of shrapnel's in front of enemy aircraft

And it is much more rational for shooting down one way attacks drones than the Loockheed Martin / Raytheon / MBDA festival paid by americans and europeans over Ukraine.

Rheinmetall is also a good one on the money wasting/useless cost efficiency shiny SPAAGs toys festival department

That ammo is much cheaper than 2 Iron dome rockets.

and mobility is bad.

How is this bad? Go see how many IFVs and other wheeled vehicles got stuck in Ukraine.

It doesn’t seem you understand what these are supposed to do.

These are meant to form defense lines around cities or HVTs. And act in many ways as a proximity fused or kinetic based kill system not too unlike CRAM developed by US military, but cheaper.

You take air defense guns most militaries already have and tie them to an EO/IO & radar based operating system with automated firing.

Great economical solution vs Pantsir like systems.

Iran has a better anti-aircraft gun:

I believe Syria uses this. There was a leaked clip where one of these larger air defense cannons tied to an EO/IO optical FLIR shot down an Israeli PGM as it was traveling in outskirts of Damascus.

still more expensive then single barrel 30-40mm cannon

How is this bad? Go see how many IFVs and other wheeled vehicles got stuck in Ukraine.

so, only reference to mobility is muddy terrain like in ukraina, ok.

that is sound argument but i consider adapted IFV for that role more suitable and versatile solution like turkish korkut, along the important points to defend, field troops also need protection from drones and missiles.

i am not opposed to improvisation out of the necessity, i actually appreciate it but as any it comes with some short comes.
