No, it;s not about "trust" at all, youre now conveniantly changing the goal posts. It's solid project management. Place a large order early for engines that are proven, get them in the plane and produce it. PAF ended up with a large fleet of reliable planes in a short space of time. It did not dilly dally waiting for China. A solid project management lesson others could learn from.

Now situation is completly different as in last 20 years Chinese engines have come on leaps and bounds.

no dude. China is potentially looking at 3 active fronts and few thousand 5th Gen fighters. so they are not deploying 200 of their J20 in Hotan at a go..

Again - the topic is started only when claims start by saying better than this & that. And people were degrading Russia.

So I am just questioning - how come can they concluded that - it's better? since no technical details are available to public.

The Guizhou WS-13 is noted as an alternative. Specific details about this engine are not easy to come by, at least in English. The Pakistan Air Force is considering the idea of changing the JF-17's engine from the RD-93 to the newer RD-33MK or WS-13.
