Gripen wouldn't have been allowed for sure...Hi,
Well both swedes & French are well under USA
Influence, Gripen is using US engine somewhat
Like T129 situation & French are always ready to
Ditch you like the way they ditch Argentina in Falkland war French even can’t sell their gadgets until USA leave that certain market for them to sell their Rafale though USA still sell something else which is more expensive to that
Country like Qatar, India , UAE & the list keep on going
Thank you
Supply chain is a lot more constrained for M2000s. Most of the users will have trouble keeping them airworthy after another decade whereas new built F-16s are still coming off the lines. F-16s were the right decision still.Gripen wouldn't have been allowed for sure...
But French aircraft acquisition would have been possible
We choose f16s in 1980s..
Seeing what happened afterwards.. clearly a bad choice in retrospective
On merits alone the f16s is superior but as we saw in 1960s and 1970s ..we were well aware what would happen with aircraft parts and supply chain

Mirage 2000 - limited user base - French supply chain. We had issues keeping it airworthy from 1990 to 2004
So what's the point ??? I still don't get it
More like from 1990-94. After the brown amendment there have been no issues with F-16 serviceability. Even in the early 90s not all sources were closed off to PAFWe had issues keeping it airworthy from 1990 to 2004
