PAF Future Acquisition Plans

I can't imagine wtf the Russian would be able to honeypot out of you, especially with their deep links to the Indian defense establishment. Some Russian KGB Svetlana prob gonna honeypot some high level person in the Indian Air Force, who wants "Fraaaaandship" with the "Gori", next thing you know all the sensitive info about the F-35 is being sent to the Kremlin. lol

From the very beginning we knew that Pakistan will definitely choose J31 over AZM. even Pakistan is not likely to buy AZM, its just a smokescreen for military intelligence.

1, Logistical advantages. Pakistan already has many Chinese fighters and the continued use of Chinese 5G fighters will drastically reduce logistical pressures. Turkish fighters will require a whole new logistical programme.

2, 5G fighters have been in service in China for over a decade. The number of 5G fighters China has is second only to the United States. And Turkey has zero experience.

3, The J31 is a mature platform that China completed validation of many years ago. China has even been developing a naval version of the J35. and it is still unknown if the TFX will be successfully developed. Any investment in TFX could be wasted.

4, Weapons. The Chinese fighters use a wide range of munitions that are not only complete but also advanced, and they have long been tested by the Pakistan Air Force. On the other hand, the Turkish fighter jets get their ammunition from different European and American countries, and it cannot guarantee that it will not be cut off from its supply. This will bring great diplomatic pressure.

5, Engine. China's WS15 engine has been in service for many years, and the WS19 engine has matured. Turkey still hasn't solved the engine problem until now. Even if Turkey eventually finds the engine, it is likely to be sanctioned by Europe and the United States at any time, cutting off the supply of the engine.

6, China is able to produce every subsystem and piece of equipment on a fighter jet, so Chinese fighters usually have a big price advantage. Turkey, on the other hand, relies heavily on technology from other countries and the price is likely to be high.

I guess Pakistan is a decade ahead then the rest of the world when it comes to economic meltdown
At least we are ahead in any field then the rest of the world .... 😇😇😇

Ok no more tongue in cheek remarks from my side and on serious note economic conditions are bad but still not in that position from where it could not be redirected to towards positive GDP growth of 5% to 6% all we need is work on fundamentals and political stability.

On the legacy PDF I had already predicted that azm was a prestige project. Let's say it how it is. In the end we all know that J-31 is the only viable option. A good one at that.

How much money would Pakistan need to start a 5th generation jet project? That is from the scratch, that is a lot of money. For pakistan it's not sustainable. We would rather save the money, then buy from China/Turkey, maybe some level of collaboration, similar to Jf17 or the s20 subs. The only option is go for J35, with Pakspec plane, build some parts in Pakistan, repair facilities etc. We need a strong economy to take this to the next level. Building some weaponry, radar, parts. In house repairs, upgrades is a must.

you can judge folks by what they say. also you can judge them by what they do.

And based on what they do they clearly consider the west enough of a threat to still base the majority of their squadrons and air defenses there

According to @Deino WS-15 has recently started testing on only 1 J-20 (in 2023) so what's the proofs of your claim that WS-15 has been service for years and WS19 is in testing phase and few years away

A lot of this information is incorrect, for one thing, Turkey builds its own munitions, its not purchased from europe @MMM-E could tell you more about this.

That guy doesn't know anything, he is probably confusing the WS-15 with the WS-10C. lol, he got tother stuff wrong too.

It is too complex. Pakistan would be foolish to spend money and reinvent the wheel. Azm didn't make any sense. Buy off the shelf and invest time and resources in training the pilots and logistics. PAF can always tweak the J-31 to its liking with the help of Chinese.

Stop having unrealistic fantasies
The chief engineer of WS-19 clearly stated in his speech that the upper limit of engine thrust is 10 tons at most.
At the same time, the PPT she gave showed that the thrust of WS-13 is slightly lower than that of RD-33.
The thrust of the advanced development type WS-21 is slightly higher than that of the RD-33.

I thought they are going to get 5th gen fighters from Turkey instead all along ? J-31 revised version are going to ready to be deployed on Chinese aircraft carriers too.
For all of Turkey's advancements, the TF-X program is not a true 5th gen.
