Strategic Defense Options for Small Economies: How Can Bangladesh Effectively Defend Itself?

The Turkish Military Industrial complex is battle proven to provide super-power beating asymmetric warfare capabilities at air, land, and sea via the robotic means. Moreover, Pakistan isn't lagging that much behind either as she's building it fast. BD needs to build her own "cottage industry" of indigenous drones and relevant ammo cooperating with Turkey. Additionally, the Turkish AD systems come handy too....
 
1- Solve the Dam issue with India , divert the water to sea
2- Built minimum deterrence

The water damage from Floods in Bangladesh is avoidable it cost tremendous amount of money for Bangladesh
 
Bangladesh 'fell' in 1971. It still is like a small person stuck in a big Indian chokehold (literally its geography). There is no other enemy, but the de facto ruler , India. There is no other opponent to shadow box.

"Indian water"? So water has nationality in the sub-continent? Not to say that India does not or can not or will not use flow of rivers as a weapon but still, its just water. Build enough dams and lakes to store it.

Even that will work against Bangladesh. Spending on upkeep of a strong defence force against a regional power is a surefire way to screw your economy. Till now, Bangladesh had an advantage of not having to spend much on defense and focus on infra and development.

The only REAL defence against a regional power like India is nuclear weapons. Baring that there is nothing that can deter India in this situation.

You don't always need weapons, just a decent deterrent as a free and independent state and accepting the threat from a common enemy like the hindutva

What's the dudes name H-Biswas, when you have hindutva scumbags like him on the other side of the border any awami leagueesq bullshit is worthless, you need to see a enemy for what it is, and the hindutva are a common enemy for all south Asia

Bangladesh needs to address it's security flaws, create a basic but potent deterrent, prepare it's military populations and securing forces and weed out the spies amongst the Hindu population or expell them all together

We will never do that. Hindus are Bangladeshis just like Muslims. Even Jamaat Amir recently openly condemned the attacks on Hindus, ordered Jamaat party members to guard the Hindu temples at night and stated there are no minority in Bangladesh, all are Bangladeshi citizens first.

As for spies and Indian collaborators (dalal as we call it in Bengali) - there are plenty of Muslims who has loyalty to Delhi. All foreign spies and collaborators must be monitored and tried for treason. There should be no targeted monitoring of any specific group.

How is that deterrent working out for the people of Gaza? Or Hezbollah for that matter? Or Iran?

No deterrent is potent unless it can instil fear. Leaving nuclear weapons, there is no other option in the cards for Bangladesh which can deter an enemy that is 10 or more times in size.

How comfortable will a non-nuclear Pakistan be in such a situation? Bangladesh is several orders of magnitude weaker than a non-nuclear Pakistan.

Coming to spies, Pakistan has more or less eliminated its Hindus. How it that working out for Pakistan? Does Pakistan has foreign infiltration in its government?

Some of the biggest traitors ever were Bengali Muslims. That being said, some of the leading student protestors were Hindus who brought down that witch. They are full members and citizens of Bangladeshi society whose security is paramount just like any other citizen.

The Hindutva are a micro-threat. The Zionists are a macro-level threat. But, that is another discussion.
