Team USA

I've been to Rockport a bunch to the various parks so I must have been in Gloucester too. Just a sec...let me break out the dang map as I get all those coastal towns confused with each other.

Hmmm...I think I just drove through it without looking much to the left or right because nothing is ringing a bell.

Oh man, take the Missus and the little bambinos and go spend the day, it's great. Not as quaint as PTown or any Cape beauties (those have an unparalleled charm to them) but it has immense beauty, and the harbor/port has great history. You can walk and check out all the fishing boats even take a wale cruise up to Stellwagen Bank (maybe some day I'll take you out myself on a private cruise :D) and there's several great beaches also. A great single day getaway.

NASS at work again @GoMig-21 this time in Maverick station/East Boston/Revere/Winthrop..the quality is not that great

Boston 1940s in color, Streetcars [60fps,Remastered] w/sound design added

So more like 1950...don't know much about this area to comment on it...but its cracked streets and the coloring makes it look dingy at times.

Happy 4th of July, everyone.

@Hamartia Antidote , this is somewhat looney. I haven't seen any of these with no one in them, have you?

I have a whole thread on them. They are only in parts of Phoenix, LA, San Francisco, and I think Austin.

BTW I may spring for the $99/mo Tesla Full Self Driving after seeing how well this is working in the latest releases:

That's outstanding. It's really improving with every testing. It's going to get to the point where it's working so well and will be marketed efficiently and pretty sure there will be the crowd that loves to drive themselves (old-school) and those who will want to absorb this driverless technology to its fullest and live by it.

But what it'll do to the commercial & traveling industry is that will be fascinating about this. Taxi, Uber, public transportation even trucking and so on. That's where we're going to see a major transformation IMO.

BTW, anyone in TX, Houston area to be specific? Beryl is on it's way heads up batten down the hatches.

So @GoMig-21 maybe I've just not been noticing my surrounding for the last few decades but this year it seems almost everybody has blue Hydrangeas.

Now the funny thing is when I first bought my house back in 2006 my mother gave my wife and I something that looked like this:

bluehydrangea.png
2 tiny pots..each with a single blue hydrangea.

This is the conversation that went with it...
Me: "hmm I never saw a big blue flower before..but hey didn't we have these but in white"
Her: "Yes, and I tried adding copper to the soil to turn them blue"
Me: "Why didn't you just get blue ones?"
Her: "They are hard to find...and they die more easily than the white ones"
Me: "oh..nice..well...I'll put them on the dining room table...."
Her: "No you aren't...you are planting them outside...like right now...one on each side of the front door"
Me: "but...they are not even a foot tall..they are going to get choked out by all the other stuff that's over 2 feet high..and you just said they die easily"
Her: "Then plant them in the backyard and transplant them to the front when they get big"
Me: "okay..I can do that..there's actually some room on the side of the house near the back at the end of the rose bushes"
Her: "just remember to do it..people will be stopping their cars in front of your house in amazement"
Me: "Well certainly this blue color should attract attention"

So 18 years later the two plants are huge...even some purple too.

Driving around I just noticed my area of town is full of blue hydrangeas. Probably every 3rd house has them to the left and right of the front door. It looks really really really nice. Except one house still has them on the side near the back because somebody didn't transplant them.

I have to say just sitting there behind the wheel and just watching it in action is fascinating. It's like watching those squirrels going through the obstacle courses.

We need to really stress this kind of Americana on this forum as everybody thinks the US looks like NYC.
