None of the phalanx system used by Pakistan Navy is of modern standard

I get that, so we still have 8 spare Phalnax Block 1B to intsall on other ships? These are still capable systems.
Regardless of how 'upgraded' it is, they are still obsolete, by their very nature, gun based CIWS is a terrible idea for the threats we face, even a successful interception of a BrahMos by CIWS would likely still lead to a mission kill best case, or worst case, still serious damage killing sailors. This is a concern even for slower missiles, the US had this issue, during a phalanx test, the target drone was intercepted but it still punched a hole through the superstructure killing a sailor due to the sheer kinetic energy
