Thaon De Revel class wants a word-The Yarmook class OPV and our OPV 90 currently under construction will be contesting for the most armed OPV
personally id also argue that in retrospect, Damen would have been a better partner if it was purely about hulls, however, the Milgem deal was more than just hulls, systems, sensors, other projects etc- it was a long term play.really how so ? please elaborate
Turkey also rebuilt/modernized a shipyard in Pakistan, I don't remember the details but long story short, babur class couldn't be built without that modernization effort.personally id also argue that in retrospect, Damen would have been a better partner if it was purely about hulls, however, the Milgem deal was more than just hulls, systems, sensors, other projects etc- it was a long term play.
Damen also had massive benefits- Partnering with Damen would likely mean that we would have had them setup a shipyard, somewhere like Gwadar and have both KSEW and Damen Gwadar build the vessels in parallel, on top of that- Damen would be a pretty good partner for original designs/custom designs on the low cost side of things
Milgems angled front bridge creates glare and only 1 CIWS not sufficient.really how so ? please elaborate
What are you talking about? Yarmook has 1 CIWS tooMilgems angled front bridge creates glare and only 1 CIWS not sufficient.
not true- ksew modernisation had nothing to do with Turkey. It was a domestic drive for the submarine building/more efficient production- there was no reason Babur class couldnt have been built.Turkey also rebuilt/modernized a shipyard in Pakistan, I don't remember the details but long story short, babur class couldn't be built without that modernization effort.
Yarmook is not earmarked for high intensity conflict, Batch 2 has 1 CIWS, however, 12 PMDS/MRSAM to supplement that. What are you talking about? Yarmook has 1 CIWS too
great point you've made there.
Phalanx CIWS is the only CIWS on Yarmook and you just proved my original point.great point you've made there.
You asked about the single CIWS on Yarmook, i explained the reasoning behind the decision, irrespective of the prior comment made by the other guy.
Yarmook Batch 1 is mostly FFBNW due to its role as nothing more than a patrol vessel atm.
youre struggling to make the distinction between batch 1 and batch 2...That Yarmook being a glorified patrol vessel and Ada class being a frontline ship that can fight any frigate or submarine that comes her way.
This is your first "indigenous" ship so why should we risk a newbie? It hopefully wasn't purchased just because they were Muslim and it seems its just a mashup of avante 2000 and forget about glorifying it with big words of "frontline".What are you talking about? Yarmook has 1 CIWS too
this is not an accurate assesment. This is your first "indigenous" ship so why should we risk a newbie? It hopefully wasn't purchased just because they were Muslim and it seems its just a mashup of avante 2000 that glares a lot and forget about glorifying it with big words of "frontline".
